While searching for a cure to a rare disease on the Enterprise, Kirk, Spock and McCoy beam down to the surface of Holberg 917-G, where they can find the antitoxin.  There they are surprised to find a man named Flint, who turns out to be from earth. Flint reluctantly agrees to allow them to mine for the antitoxin, delays the processing of the antitoxin so that Kirk falls in love with Flints daughter, Rayna. The mystery is solved when they discover Flint is immortal that Rayna is actually an android built by Flint. Rayna has a hard time choosing between Flint and Kirk.
