Places:

Rigel 12-planet with a lithium mining operation. inhabited only by 3 miners, dusty, windy, aurora lights in the sky, severe magnetic storms.

Ophiuchus 3 a planet currently being settled: the women's original destination to become wives for these settlers

Pelajer planet- Ruth's home planet, a colony of sea ranchers

Senturnius- a place where there are harem girls (no other info)

Factoids:

Shiller rating 3- no info as to what this means but it rates something about asteroid belts

Lithium Crystals/lithium circuits- appears to be a power source for star ships. They look like quartz crystals, colorless, translucent, faceted like a large diamond, the size of a man's fist. Three out of 4 crystals burn out due to super heating when the Enterprise's shields are used to cover Mudd's ship in the asteroid belt. The fourth crystal burns out during Mudd's trail.

Double Jack-card game played by Eve (appears to be a form of solitare)

Venus Drug- an illegal substance that causes physiologic changes in the human body. Enhances feminine and masculine traits, then when it wares off makes a person very sick. It's not 'just one of those stories'.

Story:

Kirk beams aboard the crew of a vessel destroyed by asteroids but at a price. All but one of the Enterprise's lithium crystals have burned out. The commander of the destroyed transport is Harry Mudd, scoundrel and space pirate. His cargo: three hypnotically beautiful women who immediately disrupt the normal workings of the ship. Kirk heads for Rigel 12, a lithium mining colony. But Mudd secretly contacts the miners and Kirk discovers they will only trade lithium for Mudd's Women. Kirk doesn't want to be a 'white slaver'. So he shows the miners that the Venus Drug, given to them by Mudd turned plain Janes into heavenly beauties. The miners decide to take the girls as wives anyway.

Quotes:

"I look upon this work as a sacred public trust, and I have decided to devote my entire live to it....well, I'm about to devote my entire life to it." Mudd while explaining himself to the Captain.
------------------------
"Are they actually more beautiful, pound for pound, measurement per measurment than any other women you've known? or its it that they just ACT beautiful?" McCoy.
------------------------
"Is this the kind of wife you want, Ben? Not someone to help you. Not a wife to cook and sew and cry and need. This kind: selfish, vain, useless? Is this what you really want. Ok. Here it is." Eve as she gulps down the Venus Drug.
------------------------
"There's only one kind of wonam, or man, for that matter. You either believe in yourself or you dont." Kirk.
------------------------
"Smack's you right in the old heart. In your case (to Spock) it should be right about here." McCoy.
