 Story

A computer malfunction during an ion storm implicates Kirk in the death of crewman Ben Finney when Kirk 'jettisons the pod' when a red alert didn't exist. Kirk stands trial for willful purgery and culpable negligence. It is up to Spock and Kirk's lawyer, Samuel Cogley, to prove his innocence as well as the truth. Finney faked his death, he's still alive. The prosecuting attorney is an 'old friend' of Kirk's too. Just so happens.
