Synopsis:
Federation outposts destroyed by Romulans! It's a game of cat and mouse
for Kirk and the Romulan commander, whose cloaking device renders his ship
invisible - and very deadly! How long can Kirk protect the Enterprise from

Romulan Star Empire- Praetor is government head.
Romulus and Remes-Populated by beings who probably are related to the
Vulcans, only they are belived by the Fedeation to be warlike, cruel, trecherous.
They are organized much like the Roman Empire. There was a conflict between
Earth and The Romulans over '100 years ago' fought with atomic weapons,
and primitive ships. No visual contact at the time. A Treaty established
a neutral zone which has gone unbroken until this episode. The Romulan
Empire is appearantly in a savage, colonizing phase as they crossed the
neutral zone to attack the Earth Outposts to provoke a war.
Cloking device: Romulans have developed a cloking device that renders
their ship invisable to sensors. This device consumes a lot of energy and
a ship so equipt must de-cloke prior to firing the weapons. It also produces
an echo effect which can be used to an enemy's advantage.
Earth Outposts 1 - 8: Set up in sector Z-6, constructed on asteroids to monitor the Federation's side of the Neutral Zone. Outposts 2 - 4 were distroyed by the Romulan's attack before the Enterprise was on the scene.
