The flat down by Danjera Creek is where the first Donkey Man's camp used to be. It is so called because a bloke used to take people in there camping using donkeys to carry all of the gear. He had a second camp further up the creek. I went in there recently and there is not a trace of his camp left. There used to be a small corral for the donkeys, a table and a metal plate for cooking on. All my father and I could find now is a thin slab of wood which we think may have been part of the table top. The little sand bank is overgrown with weeds and stinging nettle. Unfortunately it was getting too late in the day and storm clouds were approaching so we didn't search for any mines.
Fletchers used to have a track down to this area from Yalwal that they drove their cattle along to their paddock at Diggers Flat. The track was wiped out by the bushfires but Fletchers may have used it enough by now to mark it out again. This is something else I'll have to check on.

The grey parts of the maps are segments of the NSW Lands Dept. map for Yalwal. The map reference explains the exact location of the map fragment - "8928-2S YALWAL" is the name of the Lands Dept. map used and the other number is the grid reference, as explained on all Lands Dept. maps.
