Here, the product is Cigarettes...  ...but the obvious message concerns the power of the newly discovered
American Industrial Might.  The "Enemy"... is, however, somewhat vaguely defined as "The Ancient Prejudice".
There appear to be no shades of grey in this Marketing Campaign...  ...the intention clearly to communicate that
the new techniques of the factory workers, coupled with "American Intelligence", were no less than the "Liber-
ators of Mankind" from the "Instruments of the Devil"!  One wonders what "Instruments" the ad could be ref-
ferring to?  The small print above the picture of the factory scene reads:

     
"With the introduction of machinery man-power feared it was to be supplanted.  By the force of
  AMERICAN INTELLIGENCE this ancient prejudice dissappeared.  Our modern "machine age" brings
  happiness and prosperity."
