Another great game by Nintendo.  Metroid games before this one have always been side scrolling games.  This is the first Metroid FPS.  Many people were saying this game was going to be horrible, and maybe they still think it is, but it wasn't that bad as far as First Person Shooters go.  The lack of good sidestepping controls may annoy First Person Shooter fans, but you get used to the controls quickly.  The intro to the game is a little weak, yes, and the music in the intro is horrible, but after that the game is great.  The strange thing is that there is no talking whatsoever throughout the entire game, mainly because there's nobody to talk to.  However, they got the storyline across in other ways.  Most Metroid Games so far had different endings based on how fast you beat the game but this is different.  It depends how many creatures and objects you scan and how much info is in your log book at the end of the game.  It's strange, sure, but now instead of rushing we can all sit back and enjoy the beautiful scenery.  Which reminds me, the graphics are amazing, there's no lag, and even the water looks somewhat real.  The best part about the game is that you actually get to see Samus' face at the end... well, if you did well enough... it's one of the endings.  Anyway, instead of the horrible graphics that NES and SNES had, the GameCube has some pretty awsome graphics and you can actually see what Samus is supposed to look like.  The way the ship looks may surprise people as well.  I believe it's the first time you see the ship from any angle but the front or back.  Anyway, the gameplay is great once you get used to it, the graphics are amazing, and they even came up with a reasonable storyline for people who care about that.  I give this game a 9 out of 10.  Mainly, because some aspects of the game are just to aggrivating to deserve a 10.  Like the controlling for example.  Either way, I reccomend this game.  Everyone should at least rent it.
