Hints and Strategy
General Playing Tips:

When fighting any enemy that shoots at you or charges at you, keep in mind that you can do a dash by locking on to the enemy, pressing right or left, and then B.  When you get the Space Jump Boots you can do a double dash which is useful for getting behind enemies quickly.

With most bosses that shoot at you, just pick a weapon that works best and keep firing, and at the same time keep dashing to dodge their attacks.  If they dash toward you, you'll probably want to be far away so you have more time to get out of the way.

If there are any enemies that turn invisible, try the x-ray scanner if you have it, as well as the thermal visor if that doesn't work.  Chozo Ghosts for example, are best tracked with the x-ray visor while Shadow Pirates are best tracked with the thermal visor.

There are two bosses in the game that release helpers to attack you at the same time.  The Omega Pirate, and True Metroid Prime.  Both of them are usually vulnerable when these are attacking you, although they will be invisible so you won't notice.  Switch visors and go after the main enemy, unless the little ones are really effecting your ability to fight.

Whenever fighting Elite Pirates (Phazon Elite, Omega Pirate, etc...) they will absorb your attacks and send a shockwave along the ground that HURTS!!!  Don't bother shooting when they have their hand out.  They will only absorb it.  When they send out the shock wave, jump over it, and then before they can react, BLAST THEM!!!

True Metroid Prime is a wierd boss.  You have to use a special weapon that came with the Phazon suit.  Stand in a puddle of Phazon and it will be activated.  Just shoot all of it at Prime and it hurts it a lot.  Keep it up without spilling your guts on the floor and you can win.

All enemies that seem invincible have a weak point or some other kind of weakness.  For example, a large Sheegoth pulls all your attacks toward it's back which absorbs the energy.  However, when it uses it's breath attack on you, you can hit it in the mouth.  Also, the plasma beam is very effective alone.  Some other enemies including the "Troopers" and the final boss, Metroid Prime, can only be hurt by a certain weapon.  Whatever color they are, that's the weapon you use on them.  When Metroid Prime switches color, you need to switch your beam weapon.

Whenever you see a new enemy that you haven't scanned, SCAN IT!  Especially if it's a boss.

When you walk into a new room, do a quick look around with the scan visor.  There may be something worth looking at.  Whenever you see a RED SQUARE, that is something IMPORTANT!

If you don't know what to do in a certain room...
+ Look for Grapple Points (if you have the grapple beam)
+ Switch to the thermal visor and x-ray visor if you have them, and look around
+ Look for weak points and cracks in the wall, and use the scan visor to look for abnormal things
+ Try any morph ball slots or spinners in the room to see what they do
+ Look for holes that the morph ball can fit into

The scan visor may tell you that a part of a wall or an object is made of a certain material.  It usually does this because that material can be destroyed by a certain weapon.  Here is a guide to what certain weapons destroy.
Missiles: Brinstone & Radion
Bombs: Sandstone
Super Missiles: Cordite
Power Bombs: Bendezium
