Dragonball: The first of the three series of Dragonball. It had 518 episodes(42 volumes) in total of manga (NOTE: The manga did not change to Dragonball Z, just the anime had the name change, although the manga follows the story line of Z) and 153 episodes(13 US) of anime, which had a great story line. The comic was very well done with although sick looking characters. The TV Show was okay but didn't have alot of action in the Funanimation edits, still good overall and is much like Dr Slump, with the toilet humour and such.

Dragonball Z: The second of the series and most popular. The Z in it actually stands for Zen, because this is where Goku starts to excell in his powers. It starts when Goku is older and has his son, Gohan who is age 5 when it starts. It had many different Sagas involving the enemies (eg. Freeza Saga, Cell Saga, Buu Saga) . This had more new enemies and a few new characters in it. This runs for about 253 episodes of anime. Although, Toriyama left after this and the next series, GT, was done by the studio which is why GT wasn't as good as Dragonball Z. It's best to watch the anime than the manga(comics), because they have alot more action and are awesome.

Dragonball GT:The last series of Dragonball that has been made and had 64 episodes of anime. The drawings are different then Dragonball Z and it's a said to be getting to kinda be like a Sailor Moon type anime. The story is about Goku being wished back as a kid by Emperior Pilaf. The Dragonballs are spread across the universe where Goku has to go through the universe to collect them. The Toriyama's Bird Studios is believe to have created the drawings and storyline which makes it more poor than the original Dragonball and Dragonball Z.
