Name: Samus Aran

Age: 28

Sex: Female

Race: Unknown, considered Human

Birthplace: Zebes, colony K-12

Occupation/Group: Bounty Hunter

Appearance: Samus is and always has been an intimidating figure. When out of her renowned Power Suit, Samus has the appearance of a human female, blue eyes and blond hair framing an otherwise attractive face. She is quite tall, standing 511, while adding another foot when actually in her suit. Her figure is trim and corded with muscle, and she is a formidable opponent even in her civilian clothes. Samuss prime characteristic is undoubtedly her famous Power Suit. Having been made with Chozo alien technology, Samuss suit is the only of its kind and those who have tried to copy it have never been successful. Yet with her recent experiences with the X virus, Samuss suit has undergone a radical change. Now more sleek and dynamic, Samuss suit, dubbed the fusion suit is a mixture of her old chozo made Power Suit and a new organic technology made to embrace the newly infused Metroid DNA within her. The look is an orange (after her upgrade) type organic membrane that stretches to cover the other metallic components of her suit.

Abilities: Samus has the aid of her one of a kind fusion suit, consisting of an organic and technological link with her body. Using the Metroid DNA within her, Samus has the advantage of being immune to all of the X-virus forms, instead actually enhancing her health and performance. Yet with the introduction of the Metroid DNA, Samus has an immense weakness to any ice formed beams and weapons, though her suit protects her from extreme cold environments. This hindrance has in fact denied Samus the use of her ice beam, instead having replaced them with ice rockets, including diffusion and super rocket capabilities. However, Samus prefers to use her beam cannon that has a combination of charge, wide, plasma, and wave properties. With the inclusion of these new differences, Samus has, however, retained her original abilities, including the morph ball, or Maru Mari, as well as the high jump, speed booster, space jump, screw attack, and shinespark, which causes an energy field to encompass her crouched form, often at high speeds and can sometimes destroy otherwise unbreakable surfaces. Aside from these physical combat properties, Samuss suit includes night vision, heat sensor, and x-ray visors, as well as state of the art air filtration.

Background: Little of Samuss true origin is known. When she was but an infant, Samuss home on an undisclosed space colony was brutally attacked by Space Pirates. When the birdlike race of Chozos had decided to intervene, they fought off the Pirates, but the infant Samus was the only survivor. Amazed with this small childs will to live, the Chozo took her in, and brought her back to their home planet of Zebes. There, she was raised as their own, taught the ways of life and trained in their ways of battle. At the age of 16, Samus gained her now infamous hard suit, and with it left Zebes to peruse her life and avenge her forgotten biological parents, her fury against the Space Pirates unmatched. Appearing almost as if out of nowhere, Samus formed her name as a freelance bounty hunter. She was the best of the best, her Chozo made suit and unique knowledge of combat placing her high above the rest. From her feats, a somewhat legend surrounded her name. Not many knew who or even what she was, the tales of her adventures and deeds spread through the galaxy.

After four years time of fighting against the tyranny of Space Pirates, Samus was called on by the Galactic Federation on a mission of great importance. A gang of unruly Space Pirates lead by the infamous Mother Brain stole an organism called a Metroid from lab research stations. This organism had unique capabilities of absorbing and retaining energy from other life forms, as well as the ability to split much as a single celled organism when called to reproduce. Of course, fallen into the wrong hands, the Metroid could be disastrous. Samus was then called on after repeated failures by the Federation to recover the Metroid and destroy the Space Pirates.

Her efforts in the end won out, as following the Space Pirates, she discovered that the former home planet of the Chozo had been ultimately destroyed, instead made into the head quarters of Mother Brain. The death of mother brain had been a hard blow, and the space pirates quickly fled. Yet it did not stop there.

Samus followed them as they retreated to an unmanned space station in an unfamiliar place in the galaxy. After being severely injured and her space suit shorted, Samus then discovered the planet of Tallon IV below.

After recovering her former physical status, Samus discovered that this planet had once also been a ground where the Chozo had once been. In the Temple walls were spread the history of these bird like people, and as Samus was surprised to find, references to herself as well.

A strange plague known as Phazon had spread out from within a downed meteor, spreading death across the planet. Once again, the Chozos had been forced to flee, but in their wake they left Samus the message to save what she could of this dieing planet.

Following the clues, her discovery led her to find a Space Pirate base of operation, experimenting with the strange Phazon and indeed, Metroids as well. Defeating the large phazon parasite deep within the impact crater and once again disrupting all of the Space Pirate research, Samus left the planet of Tallon IV, hoping that perhaps peace could return.

Only months later, Samus received another call from the Federation, this time with new information on the Metroids. They had found the origin planet from where the Metroids had come, and calling upon Samus, they asked her to wipe out these creatures once and for all. Samus accepted the mission, and traveling deep within the caverns of SR-388, found and eradicated those Metroids that had survived. Finally facing off with the Queen Metroid, and thinking all was done, a small Metroid egg hatched, and clung to Samus as if she were its mother.

Not having the heart to kill the infantile Metroid, Samus recovered it, bringing it back to Federation Scientists so that they could perhaps take advantage of its energy producing capabilities.

As Samus left the asteroid belt that surrounded the station, once again she had thought it was all over. Yet once again, this was not the case. Receiving an urgent distress call from the space station she had left days before, Samus sped back to discover the station in ruins and all the scientists slain. There, facing a confrontation with Mother Brains second in command, Ridley, the hatchling Metroid had been stolen and Ridley had escaped.

Finding herself in a race for time, Samus escaped the self-destructing station, following Ridley back to the once barren planet of Zebes. Yet it had seemed the Space Pirates had been rebuilding, and beneath the surface, new labyrinths and research bases were being constructed. Tracking down and destroying the head Pirates one by one, Samus found herself once again face to face with Mother Brain. It seemed she had not been completely destroyed after all, and in an intense battle, this newly made space pirate wore Samus away until she thought she had lost.

Yet it seemed an old friend had returned. The hatchling Samus had first perused was now a full grown Metroid, and giving up its life for Samus, absorbed Mother Brains strength and gave it to the being it considered its mother. On the temporary high given from the Metroid, Samus destroyed mother brain once and for all. Yet as she escaped, a self destruct beacon had been put off, and Zebes had blown apart with nothing left behind it.

Almost a year later, a Biologic research team, a branch of research scientists off the Federation, was sent back to SR-388 for genetic samples. Samus, due to her knowledge and experience of the planet, was sent to oversee the team. When they arrived at the planet, an unknown organism had attacked her, and the parasitic creature called the X soon began to take over her body.

Yet all this was unknown to Samus and only was it when the X had reached her nervous system had realization struck. Paralyzed, unconscious, and unable to do a thing, her ship drifted into an asteroid belt, being completely destroyed. Only had the automatic escape pod saved her.

She later was found and taken back to Federation HQ, where surgeons worked franticly to save her life. The X had multiplied dramatically, and corrupted large parts of her suit. Due to the organic nature of Samus hard suit, it could not be removed while she was unconscious, and had to be surgically taken off. As a last ditch effort, an anti X vaccine was prepared with the last known components of the Metroid hatchling DNA. The serum was made, and immediately injected within her. The X had gone, but Samus had undergone a radical change, her old suit gone, and a strange fusion suit remaining. Traveling back to the Biologic Space Labs research center, Samus understood that the samples of creatures taken from SR-388 as well as her infected Power Suit pieces were taken there for research.

Yet as she arrived, the X had taken over the station completely, and recovering her strength slowly, Samus traveled through the BSL center as new data from the Federation came in so that she could power up her new suit. Yet at the same time, the X had formed an almost clone of Samus, using the infected pieces from her old suit. This creature called the SA-X began to hunt Samus throughout her mission, and since it was as powerful as Samus had been at full strength, it was a force to be reckoned with.

As Samus gained back her abilities, she discovered more unsettling news. It seemed that the BSL center had been trying to recreate the conditions on the surface of Zebes, as well as its creatures. Now that the X had found them, they had mutated to another species all together, and Samus was the only one there to defeat them. After tracking down and destroying these large mutants, as well as absorbing the X to gain newer abilities, Samus finally faced the SA-X, now strong enough to defeat it. Yet there was more, and it seemed that the research conducted on the BSL center had also involved Metroids. Fighting and killing the Omega Metroid, with the help of the X and her computerized CO, Samus escaped the station, blowing it and crashing it into the planet to obliterate all behind her.

Her superiors were not happy. Countless raw information had been destroyed along with the station, and though Samus was held responsible, she could not be reprimanded due to her continual efforts against the Space Pirates and her previous achievements.

Now, the Federation has discovered unsettling news. A new group of Space Pirates have surfaced, and they are suspected to have obtained a sample of X from the station before it blew.

Worried that the Pirates would somehow be able to control the mimicking abilities of the X, and afraid it could be used as a weapon against mankind, a group of officers, soldiers, and scientists were assembled. The obvious choice was Samus to lead them all, with her knowledge and experience with X, as well as her immunity to it.

Yet the Federation knows of Samuss nature is to continually defy orders. Sending a rival Bounty Hunter named Lynch to keep her in check, the Federation seem to have other plans for the X, and have formed a strange bond with the Military on this mission.

Being checked on is annoying enough, yet Lynch is the only Bounty Hunter who could come close to Samus strength. Not knowing his true origins, Samus finds his bitterness towards her strange, but never thinks twice about it. She only suspects he looks upon her as a rival and a challenge to conquer, so she returns the attitude with pleasure.

Samus is a harsh and unassuming woman; her experiences in life have made her as such. Yet so unused to being working with others, Samus has a hard time keeping her priorities in check. She has a fierce protection of her crew, even those she dislikes.
Her problem with authority is a constant one, and she is often irritable when defied herself. Awkward when speaking as just a woman, Samus is continually on duty, and it seems like she never takes a light moment.
