| Name: Lynch (EXP-334-27-SA-LNK) Age: 10/26/17 (Technical/Physical/Mental) Sex: Male Race: N/A Birthplace: Federation Research Platform 221-B, Sector 3 Occupation/Group: Bounty Hunter Appearance: Lynch looks mostly human, but is obviously not normal genetic stock; his build is extremely (almost anorexically) thin, with arms and legs unusually long for his body size, and he moves with a catlike grace beyond most normal humans. His suit looks superficially similar to Samus, but is colored grey and dark blue, and has a beam saber mounted on the left arm (rather than cannon on the right). When hes not in the suit, he has odd purple eyes, with cross-shaped pupils, and his hair looks slightlyodd; its black, shiny, almost perfectly straight and stiff. He wears his hair swept back, and has a sharply-pointed goatee which matches his thin, angular face. He also has a prehensile tail, though he keeps this secret; its unnoticeable beneath the suit, and when hes in civilian clothes he keeps it completely out of sight. Because of this, he prefers loose-fitting clothes and only ever wears full-length pants, no matter the climate. Abilities: Lynch has the use of a state-of-the-art hard suit, consisting (like Samus) of both technological and organic components; thus, he is able to form a crude mental link with it, allowing him great fighting skill even against mobile opponents. However, his suit is not Chozo-built, and as such lacks most of Samus unique capabilities among them, the ball-morph and shinespark abilities. Strength and speed-wise, he is weaker but actually slightly faster than Samus suit originally was; now that she has the fusion suit, she holds a speed advantage over him, and he still cannot beat her in a sheer strength-to-strength contest. His suit is equipped with a complex sensor suite, including infrared, night vision, and targeting capabilities; he can switch between filtered air from outside and a limited internal air supply, and his armor is hardened against most environmental hazards (acid-proofed and tested in extreme hot and cold temperatures, though he has yet to field-test those abilities) In terms of armaments, his main weapon is a blue-light beam saber mounted on the suits left forearm, added by him to fit with his love of melee combat; his only ranged weaponry are low-yield energy cannons installed in the gauntlets and forearms of his suit, which he can use (almost Megaman-style) against far-off targets. Background: Lynch is the sole surviving result of a top-secret Federation experiment attempting to copy Samus abilities, and create the perfect hunter; having seen the legendary bounty hunters abilities, and knowing that, at least in part, her prowess was due to her unique combat suit, the Federation secretly tried to duplicate her abilities; studying all they knew of her, back when she was a freelancer, they managed to build a cybernetic/organic suit, with abilities that they believed approached Samus; then, rather than trying to tune the suit to her abilities, they attempted to create the perfect pilot. Mixing and matching genes from high-potential humans and genetically similar alien races, they created a run of possible pilots, and attempted to force them to form a link with the suit while still in neonatal stages; only a few of the potentials survived that stage, the others having been destroyed by the process when the suit violently rejected them. Of those survivors, Lynch alone managed to achieve a full-quality link with the suit, and was thus considered a success by the project. His mental and physical growth artificially accelerated, he grew to physical adulthood in the space of a little more than a year, though his emotional growth was stunted due to the lack of a childhood. His name itself is artificial; his serial number was given the suffix LNK when he achieved a full link with his suit, and one of the researchers educating him gave him the moniker Lynch. He trained with the suit, attempting to forge as strong a link with it as possible; however, to their dismay the scientists in charge of the project learned of a flaw in their suits design that rendered it incapable of ever achieving or surpassing Samus power level. The project was deemed a failure, as an already-linked pilot could not form a link with a different suit and all the millions of credits used by the project had yielded only one viable pilot after nearly ten years of effort. However, rather than waste any more resources, the Federation chose to train the Lynch as a warrior; they turned him loose as a bounty hunter, but kept an eye on him by keeping indirect control of the ship they loaned him and requiring two things first, that he report in to a Federation outpost on a monthly basis (or weekly by com if he couldnt arrive in person), and second, that should the Federation need his abilities, he would put their missions above all others. Now, hes been called in to work for the Federation again; no longer trusting Samus after the so-called X incident, the Federation wants him to monitor her and prevent her from going against mission parameters, as he is the only individual available to them who can come close to matching her power level. However, Lynch is conflicted; loyal to the Federation that created him, yet bitter towards them for making him into a living weapon, he also both hates and admires Samus; hates, for being not only a copy of her, but a *failed* copy, and being forced to remember every time he sees her; and admires, though he has yet to realize it, because thanks to his nonexistent childhood and his path in life, she is the closest thing he has ever had to a hero. (Although it is as yet unknown to Lynch, he was not the sole potential pilot the Federation produced; he was the second. Another pilot, raised in a different facility and piloting a different suit, was sent by the Federation against the Pirates and is believed to have lost his life; this is what led to the Federation hiring Samus to retrieve the Metroid.) |
