Metro Conference Bulletin Board

COACHES CORNER

South Bay meeting at Marian Catholic High, Monday, February 23, 2004 at 6:00 p.m. in either G-1, 2 or 3 (rooms behind gym, up the ramp...same as last year's end of the year meeting). 

SEEDING
A. The top four teams will be seeded in each division. League Champions will
be given a home site in the first round, where possible.
B. Commissioner's Office will seed and pair teams after input from the
advisory committee. (Only advisory committee members will vote in the
seeding process.) Bill McLaughlin and Brian Wilbur, will chair seeding
meetings.
C. Seeding meetings will be February 21 at Francis Parker School, 6501 Linda
Vista Road, San Diego 92111
, according to the time schedule listed below,
which will be followed as closely as possible.

Location: Francis Parker Multipurpose Room
8:00 a.m. - Women's Division I
9:00 a.m. - Women's Division II
10:00 a.m. - Women's Division III
11:00 a.m. - Women's Division IV
Any coach may and is encouraged to attend the seeding meetings to speak in behalf of his/her team regarding seeding and/or at-large selection. (Bring
or send 15 copies of Attachment #1 to the meeting.) NOTE: Soccer balls will be available immediately following the seeding meetings.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT
All schools that are guaranteed entry or who wish to be considered for at-large selection, must submit 15 copies of the Tournament/Season Record
(Attachment #1 - coach's copy only). Materials are to be submitted no later than February 21, 2004, at the start of the seeding meeting. NOTE: Failure to submit proper forms and paperwork will result in those teams not being considered for at-large entry!

PLAYOFF FORMAT
There will be four playoff divisions based on enrollment figures for grades 10-12. 50 percent (rounded up to the nearest multiple of 4, maximum of 12) of schools in each enrollment division will be eligible for entry into playoffs. Each league champion (not co-champion or tri-champion) shall be
guaranteed entry into the first round of its respective division. Remaining berths in each division will be filled by at-large teams. (See Attachment
#2.)
