High quality skateboard bearings are rated on the Abec scale. Bearings available in retail skateboard shops are typically rated 1, 3, 5, or 7 (1 is "slowest" and 7 is "fastest"). Keeping in mind the safety of the user, the Metroboard is equipped with Abec 1 bearings. Though 1 is the lowest rating, the bearings are still very high quality, and very fast (in fact, some very experienced skaters use Abec 1s). If you are purchasing a Metroboard and you have experience riding skateboards, you may want bearings with a higher Abec rating. For a small fee, you can order Luckies or Black Panthers in either Abec 3, 5, or 7 (Black Panthers are also made by Quickies).
