metraboy online: july 25, 2000

okay so there is a lot of stuff that i want to say and not much time to say it. sorry to dissapoint with a few days of no updates. it disappointed me, too, to be sure, but that's okay, right? if i could update at HOME than it would be a whole lot easier...can't wait until my netID no longer works in the labs....

um, this weekend was rad. more on that some other time. suffice to say that nate is still really great and ang is super neato, too.

i suffered another bout of "fuck, i hate having to get a new job" depression yesterday because i have an upcoming interview. which should make me happy, but actually just tells me how close the threat of change looms. i used to think that i was pretty adaptable--and i am in some respects--but i think that a function of my "loyalty" is also the fact that i "fucking hate to change jobs/locations/schools/routines." shit.

in a really exciting new development, though, i applied to be an administrative assistant for the xfl.I wonder if my check would be signed by vince macmahon? anyway, my palk sam walter also applied, for the las vegas franchise. the chicago vs. everywhereelseintheworld rivalry continues....

oh, nate also gave me a paper that he did about his childhood that he is going to turn into a zine. sad, but...interesting. i wish that i knew what else to write about it, but i haven't fully processed it yet. it almost made me cry in the lab, though. it made me glad that i forgot my book at home bcause that meant that i got to read his stuff instead.

the scary thing about reading something about just-resurfacing childhood memories is wondering when some of mine will come back, too....
