In Summer of 2006,
Metin Benek took part in group exhibitions in "Second Altinkumsal Culture and Tourism Festival"
(Altinova, Turkey) and Ayvalik Culture and Arts
Days III (Ayvalik, Turkey). He also
held an individual exhibition in D&S Collection in Ayvalik.
Metin Benek has
become a member of UPSD. Currently UPSD, with over a thousand
members, works hard to spread plastic arts all over the country. It
also acts as a medium for creating a more productive environment for
the artists.

Metin
Benek will hold an individual exhibition in Istanbul for the first
time in October at Istanbul National Fine Arts Gallery. (The
exhibition is open between 09:30 - 18:00 on weekdays and 10:00 -
18:00 on Saturdays. It is closed on Sundays.)
Cekirdek Art Studio is holding an event to pay homage to the late
renowned Turkish painter, Nuri Iyem. One of his works, "Portre",
will be interpreted by selected artists. Metin Benek is also taking
part in this event that is called "Nuri Iyem Interpretations".
(Exhibition is open between
11:00 - 18:00 except on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays.)

Every year Jockey
Club of Turkey (JCT) holds a painting competition to promote Turkish
painters. Competition's theme is "horses, horse races and
racecourses." This year Metin Benek has entered to the competition
with an oil painting that is named "Road of Luck."
"Road of Luck" was
catalogued and selected as an exhibition piece among a total number
of 661 works. Detailed information about the dates and places of
