And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. 2 Timothy 2:2 |

Ministry for Today's ChristianWatch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be
strong. Let all your things be done with charity. I beseech you, brethren,
(ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and
that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints,) Webster defines
"ministry"
as the act of serving; that which serves as a means or agency. A
"minister" is defined as one acting for another as his agent and
carrying out his orders or designs; one who supplies, provides,
administers, or gives help to. As Christians we are called to be
ministers. Entrusted with the Gospel as well as with both saved and
unsaved people who surround us each day, we need to be serving those whom
the Lord Jesus Christ has placed within our paths. We must be consecrated to those we serve. (and that they have addicted themselves to the ministry
of the saints,) As I was seeking for the truth, two different men were independently seeking God for someone that they could minister to. The first man was the bus driver on the church bus, which took my sons to Sunday School. I discovered a few years later that he had wept for my family and I for many nights pleading the Lord to lead us to salvation. The second man spent hours in prayer asking the Lord Jesus to allow him to lead someone to Jesus who would follow in the steps of baptism, and who would give his life to serve God. I became the fulfillment of the prayers of both these men. They were addicted to ministering to my family and I as we found Christ and gave our lives to Him. They stayed close to us as we grew from newborn babes.
