Thyrane - 'Symphonies of infernality' - By M. Lynch
Thyrane hail from Finland, so most would think that these guys play music similar Children of Bodom or bands like that. But you couldn't be more wrong. These guys are really extreme - as extreme as black metal can go. Thyrane are one of those bands that started symphonic Black Metal with bands like Ancient and Stormlord. Actually Thyrane started before Stormlord and I think they started a little after Ancient. All three bands have created this style of Black Metal that no other band has tried to copy because its almost impossible. Superbly fast riffs, drumming so fast it will turn your stomach inside out and the keyboards...what else can I say. It's almost like the keyboard players are going crazy as well. You don�t find Black Metal this fast unless you are listening to Ragnarok or other bands that can play faster. Have a listen to some of the songs on this CD like �In The Shape Of A Demon� and you will see how fast these guys play. Its like Slayer mixed with Black Metal vocals and a lot faster. Yet it�s also symphonic which is really cool and makes it even better. The whole CD is really good - not one bad track. Also the songs are pretty long as well - most passing six minutes in length. The only short song on this CD is the first song and that�s understandable because it�s the intro. Production is great. You can hear everything clearly. I think the producers focussed a lot on the drumming production, as this is probably one of the best drumming productions I have ever heard. Also the keyboarding is loud and clear which is good. Guitar riffs are also very clear but sometimes you can�t hear the guitars as well as you can hear the keyboards in the background. Overall a must have CD if you�re a black metal fan but let me warn you this is no Children of Bodom or In Flames type of stuff - This is seriously brutal Black Metal! Metal Obsessive Grade: 100% |
