The Cult - 'Sonic temple' - By C. Impey
"Sonic Temple" is, rock legends The Cult's 4th album, containing some of their best ever material. The Cult progressed musically between "Sonic Temple" and "Electric", their sound elevated to a more commercial sound with a 'feel good' stadium rock feel to it.

"Sun King" starts the album off brilliantly, an upbeat song showcasing Ian Astbury's brilliant voice and the brilliant musicians behind the music of The Cult. Most of the songs on "Sonic Temple" are pretty similar, but they're all so good and have small differences.

The best songs are the one's which have become classics over time, such as "Fire Woman" (my personal favourite), "Edie (Ciao Baby)" and "Sweet Soul Sister".

"Fire Woman" is imense, the chorus is unbelievably catchy and you'll be singing it for ages after listening to it. "Edie (Ciao Baby)" is one of the slower songs, you might call it a ballad (you'd probably be right) but it's a brilliant song with the stadium rock sound that's evident throughout the whole album. The guitar work is clearest inbetween Ian's vocals, it's excellent. It's hard to believe how catchy this whole album is, every song will have you singing along to the chorus's after a few listens. Don't be mistaken though, it's not catchy because it's so cheesy, it's not cheesy, it's a brilliant album and most fans of rock music will love it.
