Queensrche - 'Hear in the now frontier' - By J. Korkiamki
The previous Queensrche album, The Promised Land, was great and the heaviest album the band has done. While Damaged and One More Time Around are still ringing in the back of my head, I listen to this crap and my humming stops like it has hit a brick wall. Just what the hell is this supposed to be? Grunge influenced slow rock, that doesnt seem to be interesting at all, despite the quite cool opening track Sign Of The Times.

I should have guessed. The threesome Geoff Tate, Chris DeGarmo and Scott Rockenfield have all cut their hair short, while Michael Wilton and Eddie Jackson still could wipe their arses with their hair. Queensrche is now a grown up and civilized band. In the band photo, Tate is drinking tea smiling, while the rest of the band leans against the walls and lies on the floor in an empty room, which could very well be the bands gig site, according to the musical material on the album.

Think back to the year 1984, when the band released their debut full length The Warning. Would the band have done songs named as stupid as Cuckoos Nest or Spool with their foreheads swimming in sweat back then? I think not. And have the bands musical abilities at some point dropped off or something? Geoffs voice used to be great, now its only annoying, DeGarmo has broke his pencil, the one which he used to use for writing incredible songs, and Rockenfield, who became famous for the merciless beating of his drum set, is now only slapping his f*cking toms.

Theres no use trying to circle this around: this record SUCKS! I despise Queensrche, they did the best metal album ever in the 80s, for Gods sake! And what is this? I cant realize, how all of the criticism, due to this album, hasnt influenced the band at all. They still put out the same shit. Almost all of the old fans disappeared after Hear In The Now Frontier, so did I. This is my advice: if youre partying with friends, I suggest you put The Greatest Hits into your stereo and put the Frontier CD under your beer tankard. Oh my God, this stinks.
