From the first seconds of shiva-interfere it becomes apparent that this is not an easy album. A brutal introduction leads to a space electronic part and as the song progresses the music continues to change constantly. Although many people dont consider this to be a black metal album, I think that it has the essence of black metal but given in a futuristic and cold way. The main characteristic of the album is paranoia. Noise backgrounds mix with black and death vocals, atmospheric moments (although this term may be misunderstood by some) and heavy guitars. One moment you hear a ultra brutal song, the next a schizoid grand piano leads you to an melodic interlude just to be surprised by some electronic part. I believe that this is the beauty of this album (if beauty can characterize a black metal album). Dodheimgard have taken elements from many genres and created the black metal of the next century.

The members of the band are all well-known in those who listen to black metal since a lot of them also play in other bands of the scene, though under different names. The crew that created this album is the following : Aldrahn is the vocalist of the band (and doing a great job), Apollyon (Aura Noir, Lamented Souls, Cadaver) plays the bass, Czral (aka Carl-Michael Eide from Ved Buens Ende, Aura Noir, Cadaver and a few other bands) played the drums and the guitars, Magic Logic (aka Hologram, also in Fleurety) played the keyboard and grand piano and, last but not least, Mr Fixit (aka Vicotnik, also in Ved Buend Ende) played the guitars. Its easy to see that all the members have a great experience, something that is apparent on the album. Although it would be unfair for the rest, because everyone gave their best, I would like to distinguish the vocalist Aldrahn whose great range of styles of vocals and sometimes paranoid performance is the element that moves this album from the category extremely good to that of a masterpiece. But as I said everyone participated in the creation of this amazing album.

Do I recommend it? That depends on the listener. If you like old school black metal, dislike the use of electronics in a metal album, or dont like experimentation in the music you listen to, search for another atmospheric metal album. If on the other hand, you dont belong to the above categories and like albums which demand your time and devotion to understand them, you should definitely buy it. Its definitely not an easy-listening album but I believe it will reward those who give it time. Bands like Dodheimsgard or Thorns are, in my opinion, the best thing that happened to black metal in these last few years
