Dissection - 'Storm of the light's bane' - By M. Lynch
Some of you may know about the minor crime that the lead guitarist of Dissection was involved in. I dont want to express my opinion about it though. I am just glad he is getting out in a few years. Well did you know that Dissection were one of the greatest black metal bands ever in the 1990s? Dissection were the founders of great Melodic Brutal Black Metal. If you look on a few bands websites that started after 1994 you will see that several of them named Dissection as one of their influences. Well in 1997 Dissection made a huge follow up CD named The Somberlain which is one of the greatest Black Metal CDs ever. Its always in my CD player and when I am telling people about Black Metal I am always mentioning Dissection. So lets talk about this CD a little bit. Is it better than The Somberlain. In my opinion its a lot colder and much more Satanic than The Somberlain but also this CD is a little slower but it's still very powerful. Some of the tracks though are super fast and very bone chilling. During every song you will most likely feel at least a little chill on your shoulder while listening to this CD. Is it that powerful? Hell yes it is! Very bone chilling. If you like Thy Infernal then you would love this band! I cant say enough for this record. Just one of the greatest Black Metal albums ever to be recorded. I cant wait till the band gets back together and creates another stunning release. Metal Obsessive Grade: 100% |
