Bush - 'Golden state' - By C. Impey
This was the long awaited comeback album by brit-grungers Bush. And in no way will it let you down. It's an amazing album. Possibly the best they've released so far.

The sound is quite different from the first album "Sixteen Stone", but this isn't a bad thing, the band seemed to developed in most ways, to create more dynamic, listenable rock music.

Gavin's vocals are the best from all the albums on "Golden State", the guitars aren't great but they provide good backing for the vocals. The best song has to be the final track, "Float", The other best songs are spread throughout the whole album, keeping your attention all the way through. There are some songs which are a bit off from the standard set by others, but for filler's they are good. In my opinion these include "Solutions", "Superman" and "Reasons".

"My Engine is With You" provides a frantic high-tempo moment, it's totally different from all the other songs, and fits interestingly into the album. Other good songs are, of course the first single "The People That We Love", "Headful of Ghosts", "Fugitive" and "Hurricane".

"Out of This World" is a slow, relaxing chill out song, brilliantly building up to "Float", "Inflatable" is similar, both are brilliant.

There's one thing I've always criticized Bush for, and it's the same with this album. The lyrics seem to make no sense (then it might just be me being incredibly dumb). They've either gone way over the top and made metaphors of everything, or they just have a poor ability of writing lyrics. Besides this, "Golden State" is a great buy, especially for existing fans of Bush.
