AC/DC - 'If you want blood...You've got it' - By S. Regan
Now this, is music! I dont care who you are, if you are a fan of Rock And Roll, hell if youre a fan any music thats upbeat and fun-loving then this is an album you simply MUST OWN! Few live albums have ever managed to cut it. Bad production and poor sound systems leave the listener wondering how even attending such a show could have made their live musical experience a joyful one! Nowadays especially, you have bands tailor made by record execs, brought into a studio and tidied up beyond belief until they sound so perfect and clean cut, that when they are sent out into the big wide world of touring, it's just poor songs sounding even poorer! History however, has documented a handful of success stories: Iron Maidens mind-blowing Live After Death, Slayers deity of an album in the form of Decade Of AggressionAnd this; If you want blood. Right from opener Riff Raff, you know youre in AC/DC country. Their fantastic blend of Bluesy upbeat rock and roll appears custom built for the stage. Every time I hear this album I feel the need to just get up and get down as its so uplifting and fun-loving. While many bands nowadays focus on the miseries of life, bands like AC/DC simply embrace life and all its sex, drugs and rock and roll possibilities! The sound and production on this is fantastic, and only serves to give already awesome classics, such as The Jack, Whole Lotta Rosie and High Voltage even more energy, truly capturing the intensity of an AC/DC live show. Guitarist and AC/DC cornerstone Angus Young is notoriously known for his penchant for extending solo's during his live performances, and despite any preconceptions about that anyone might have, theres never a dull moment and the riffs on this album certainly prove that. Tracks such as 'Bad Boy Boogie' and 'Let there Be Rock' may be considerably longer here than their album counterparts, but this is most definitely not a bad thing as it all blends perfectly and the pure energy and emotion that is given off truly shows Youngs love and talent for the music he creates.
