Subterranean Sonic
This was the first real letdown in the AoStH series. The story focused more on Speedlunk seeing the error of his ways than it did on character development, which is what a second-in-series really needs to do. Perhaps being the worst one in the whole series, the only good thing about this was that Tails had more than just a few lines to say, and gave his character a little more depth. In preparation for his centre stage appearance: "Tails in charge"- #12. The real downer, though, was that they tried to cover the crappy storyline with Scratch &Grounder slapstick. This was THE WORST Sonic show I've ever seen. What a bummer.
Basic Plot:
Well, I don't really want to spend too much detail on this one, but....
Sonic gets trapped by the badniks, the only way out is to go down a nearby geiser hole, Where him and Tails run into a treasure cave. The treasure belongs to Speedlunk the mole, who thinks they've come to steal it. Basically, after a lot of faffing about, Speedlunk catches them and puts them in a cage where a pit begins to open below them.....
Meanwhile,  the badniks have returned with Dr. R, because they say that there's treasure in the caves below. They use dynamite to blow away the tops of the caverns. They use too much, and they fall into the caverns below. Sonic and Tails are holding on desperately to the sides of the pit when the roof falls in and a falling rock smashes the cage. Robotnik and the Badniks fall into the pit. From here on, things get a little mushy.
Sonic saves speedlunk from a piece of falling debris, and suddenly (miraculously) Speedlunk seems to  see the error of his ways. Together, they stop the Badniks' plans to steal the treasure, and it ends on a totally soppy morality note.

Sonic:" you haven't payed your Y.O.U's, your A.R.E's, or your S.O/S.T.U.P.I.D's."
(groan) I know it's lame, but it's the only quote worth mentioning in this one. (sooooo stupid.)
