Tribes-The Story: The year is 3940. Mankind has traversed the mysterious Hyperweb to colonize the galaxy. On the fringe of human space, far from the civilized core worlds of the Empire, humanity has evolved a warrior culture, hundreds of hardy tribes constantly battling each other for resources, prestige, and new worlds. These tribes continually penetrate deeeper into the hyperweb, leaving civilization farther behind in order to live free.
Tribal warriors spurn the heavily mechanized warfare of the imperial military, claiming massive Hercs and antigravity tanks are to bulky and tedious to maintain. Instead, they enter combat in mobile powered armor and swift grav vehicles, depending on sheer skill and daring tactics to achieve victory. Tribal fortunes rise on a thousand battlefields, and the people of the tribes train all their lives to be worthy of their ancestors, to win glory and increase the honor of their tribe.
