December 23, 2002:
What's Up with Metallic Charcoal?! That's the question on everyones mind. We have had a couple practices since November 13th, and the rumours are true, metallic charcoal DID go to the mall. Metallic Charcoal should be practicing this vacation, if Jeff is not sick.
November 13, 2002:
Look at the guestbook and look at how many people think Metallic Charcoal is their favorite band. It's unbelievable!
November 9, 2002:
No chinamin today. We played through some songs like New Song 6 and tried writing a song with no results. The CD should be coming along soon enough. Jeff is going to try to get back on writing songs. Please look at the image above the website. We made that today. THe most important thing we did today was start the Metallic Charcoal video game based off final fantasy. This game based on the band itself will be on the website when were done, which will be a very long time, until then you can look at the shuttup biatch test program whic hwill be on the website momentarirly.
November 2, 2002:
Today, we had a band practice.
October 27, 2002:
No singer today. Just guitarist and drummist. We played call of the ktulu first and this time the sticks only flew out of my hand 20 times, not the usual 100. Furthermore, (good transition there), I got my new hihats and their good. Also, i predict next friday jeff will be sick (how do i know.. hmm). Jeff made a list of some covers we shoudld learn. that's good. I noticed these updates are starting to make less and less sense. it's late and i'm tired.
October 18, 2002:
Practice. Oh yes practice. Zach Bolles was here to jam with us. He's not too bad yet we decided that MC will always and forever be a 3 piece band... with no bassist.. until otherwise stated. Besides that, we did the usual of playing cards, catch, and spinning in circles outside. I also ran after a Dominoes car that wasn't even for us. Smart me.
October 11, 2002:
Finished that song that is still unnamed. long practice. Some people happened to be at the place where Jeff Scott and I decided to eat. That was lucky. Played whiffle Ball. Played Call of Ktulu, and jeff broke his string
October 4, 2002:
The goon came. Played song with the goon. CD is starting to come together... won't be out until sometime hopefully before summer. MC will be playing at the battle of the bands (see shows). We also watched the Spinal Tap movie and played iiritating video games. The china man wanted chinese food.
September 27, 2002:
Watched Clerks. Played through songs. Good melody to the sad song with happy lyrics
September 20, 2002:
Unmemerable Practice
September 13, 2002:
Relatively short and unclimatic practice. We still have many guitar parts and not many vocal parts. I had to go to a Marching Band game.. Jeff and Scott came and Jeff stole my drum.
September 3, 2002:
Practiced. We have 5 guitar parts, 2 half melodies, and 2 sets of lyrics. Good progress. We have 9 songs for our next CD already. I like the new songs a lot. We played monopoly again and I won again. Hooray.
September 2, 2002:
Scott couldn't come, so we worked on recording the drums. Alex Kobzik was here too. the problem is every mic picked up the hihat louder than anything else. This will be a problem. I refuse to use a drum machine though, we will figure this out
August 23, 2002:
First Metallic Charcoal practice after summer. Played through old orignals and worked on the new ones. We now have 8 originals for our next CD. There's the ABT old one, the one with the cool drum part, the one that sounds like it should be in 6/8, and the one that we just wrote a couple days ago that goes into double time in the middle of the song. Woohoo. In other news, Scott won rummy with an open hand. Boo.
June 20, 2002:
Show was a success, about 40 people came, people didn't really listen to the bands, but they had fun eating food, playing pingpong, getting frisbees in the woods for 5 dollars, playing basketball, exploding flints and playing funny games on peices of paper. Next practice will be in september. yay
June 19, 2002:
Practiced for the end of the year show, played tennis ball, didn't go to the pollard pops.
June 11th, 2002:
Evil Phone Boy Twin 2 called Phone Boy to the evil lair of evil phone boy twin 2. When arrived, Evil Phone Boy Twin 2, Phone Boy, and his sidekick, Soda Can, played 10 songs. Afterwords they all rang Jimmy's doorbell and asked if Jimmy could play ball in the streets.
June 7, 2002:
We had our biggest audience yet today. While we were playing, about 5 10 year old kids who were rollerblading all came down to the window to see where all the soothing sounds were coming from. We are happy to know that they will not be having cancer in their life because all their cancer cells will be turned into pure gold. In other news, we watched the Wall and that's a pretty good movie. We also played Mega Man X2. I was pretty bad at it because i got the jump/dash early and i wasn't used the jump/dash, i was used the dash/jump so the lava kept on killing me everytime i tried to get a heart tank. In other news, please come to the end of the year show.
May 31, 2002:
Played through the setlist and played the middle. The middle sounded awful so we played it 5 more times and it still sounded awful. But for the real news, Jeff taught me how to play a C major chord and me and scott played mario lost levels and mega man 2 respectively at the same time. Jeff watched us both and laughed a lot.
May 24, 2002:
Mixed the CD this entire week.. have semi-final versions now. Then we went through our usual set but added openish song variation, which is a wonderful jam song, and santa monica, which i need to learn how to play. Also, jeff taught me how to play an Eminor and an Aminor chord on guitar.
May 17, 2002:
Stuhck a guitar, drums, and several mics and mikestands into a blender and pressed "CD"
May 11, 2002:
Today, we practiced without Scott because he was using his Dad's cellphone. We practiced our cd and it's really starting to come together. We calculate that we can start recording after next practice. That's it. oh, and Jeff almost beat megaman, but he had to leave right before he got the shubunkin. oh well. atleast he wrote down the password.
May 4, 2002:
Practiced. We played openish song now called "Join the Crowd" and it sounded horrible. Then Jeff told me to play the open hihat instead of the ride cymbal, and it sounded really good. Finally, Erica and Caroline came, and then got bored and left. We also found out how to shubunkin a basketball.
April 27, 2002:
Productive Practice today. Finished melody and lyrics to Why should I try?, formally titled Scott Song 2, and decided to work on 2 new covers, dammit by blink 182, and the middle by jimmy eat world. Finally, in the last half hour, we wrote a verse melody to the 1st track on gray overload, "openish song". Overall Productive practice. In conclusion, i beat the boss of Mega Man X with one swift Shebumpkin.
April 20, 2002:
Practicing occurred again. Wow. 2 practices in 4 days.
