based Power Metal act AGONY was formed in 1992. A 1994 demo preceded
the 1995 album 'Live All The Time'. Bass player Carlos Reyes would be
usurped by Hans Vollert following the 1996 'Millenium' album. AGONY's
2002 Tom Fletcher produced comeback album 'Reborn' released through
the Cinismo label closed out with a cover version of
IRON MAIDEN's 'Wrathchild'. The band line up for these recordings
counted lead vocalist Cesar Botero, guitarist Anders Jaramillo, former
SUICIDAL TENDENCIES bass player Loui Mayorga and drummer Alfonso
Pinzon. It was the year of
1992. Bogota city, in the middle of Colombia in South America. A place
that is not easy for a Rock band at all...
Labeled as one of the most violent countries in the world, with a huge
poverty level, this was the land that gave us all our inspiration and
anger for our music. A land that we will never forget...
We played and played...all around the city, building a local fan basis
with enormous speed. Two years later, and after some line up changes,
we recorded our first demo tape with seven original songs.
The result was amazing:Every time more fans, more shows and more
music.
In the year of 1995 we recorded ：Live all the time" (the first live
recording of a colombian band on sale), and we did our first
nationwide tour. We played everywhere, any time.
The song "Cultivos de Cinismo" was recorded on video for the German TV
station TRANSTEL and the band was voted as Colombia´s best live
performing rock band by the most important radio show in the country
(Rock Express).

The Millennium Era
Huge shows a strong fan basis, playing in other countries, and
exporting our music. That was MILLENNIUM all about. This was our first
real record. The most selling record in the history of metal in
Colombia.
Very cool reviews in international magazines like Metal Edge (U.S.) or
Mindview Magazine (Belgium) gave this record an international
proyection the band had never before. AGONY toured with international
bands like TESTAMENT and ANIMAL and it took us to a new level.
It took us also to the U.S., as it was the step we needed to reach the
attention of our actual producer and people outside Colombia.
Millennium has been our most important release and we closed the
Millennium Era playing for the 4th time as one of the headliners for
the Rock al Parque festival in Colombia infront of 100.000 people the
8 of October of 1998. It was one of the best shows in the band
history...
After that, we decided to take a breath, move to L.A. and wait. Until
the day we were... REBORN!
Yeah, we left!!! We moved to L.A.
It´s been not easy. But we did it for the music.
A new rock scene, new people, a new record, and of course: new fresh
music.
AGONY has played around several times at the Whisky & the Coconut
Teaszer in Hollywood, but the most important thing is that we have
finished our new album: REBORN!
REBORN has 12 new songs, including an Iron Maiden cover (Wrathchild).
We finished it completely in February 2001 and it will be in stores
very soon.AGONY is planning on touring America and Europe this year
and go back home to play to our loyal people from our home country.
