+ How are things going with Pestilence?
- Well Nick�s in the band now doing the bass!! He�s the ex bass-player/singer for Overthrow (Canada). We recorded in June 8th our new album at Morrisound with Scott Burns in Florida. When it is released we are touring for two weeks in UK with Malevolent Creation and after that we�ll be probably touring in US for two months and then back for a European tour.
+ Why did van Drunen leave Pestilence?
- Martin left because of personal reasons.
+ When is your new album going to be released?
- The album�s gonna come out in September.
+ What is it about?
- It�s all about the dark (religious, occult) side of humanity.
+ What�s your opinion about death?
- Death is just (a way) to be totally free and independent.
+ What�s the reason for your lyrics?
- To give people stuff to think about. We don�t want to preach but just to let them know there�s more than just the accepted shit.
+ Why did you choose to play this kind of music?
-That is just a matter of feeling. It is one of the most aggressive forms of musical expression.
+ Do you believe that you influence the ones that listen to your music?
- Maybe, but we don�t do that consciously.
+ Do you belong to those who think that the more people listen to metal the better it is?
- I don�t think so.
+ What�s the best thing in playing in a band?
- The coolest about that is that you can get rid of aggressions, frustration etc.
+ In your opinion, what makes a good musician?
- A lot of dedication, practice and sacrifice.
+ Do you think that someday you might play a different kind of music?
- Maybe, who knows? Everybody should progress but I guess it always has to do with heavy or metal music.
+ Is there a question that you would like to answer but nobody ever thought of asking you?
- Yeah, somebody ask me if I want a drink and I�d say yes !!
+ How are things in the Dutch metal scene?
- Piss poor. There are some good bands but we don�t really care for the Dutch scene!
+ Will you ever give a concert here?
- Maybe if a promoter is interested and he offers us the things we want why not!
+ Is there something that you would like to tell your fans?
- Please, keep supporting your scene and do what you want to do and let nobody tell you what to do!! You are god, everybody�s god.
