The Band
It was all started in our secondary school dayz. Alip was a Stranger to Amy and Mamat as Alip was in a diffrent class with em`. But it was fate that Alip and Amy went jammin` together with some other friends(6-7 members). Alip can hardly play any song yet. A few months later, Alip heard that Amy and his classmate going to form a band. Alip was called up by Amy to fill up the line-up as a bassist. He then accept Amy's offer. Week later, Amy wants to perform in A FOOD FOR THOUGHT CONCERT in school, which then we found out that Mamat can sing for the band. We told him that we want him to sing for us in this small concert, at first he think twice, but then he accept the offer :) On the concert itself we're do a cover from Puddle Of Mudd - "Blurry" acoustic vr. After the concert, we decided Mamat could be our second singer for the band.
About six months we played, Alip was tired Bassing around with simple songs. Alip try to bring new influance which is Metallica, Suprising Amy who already hear those kind of heavy shit. Then we try out a metallica cover that is Seek And Destroy, Alip choose this song because it was inspire by Amy playing the starting riff(seek and destroy) by then Alip was already put as a guitarist in the band, while Amy could not decide to play drums or guitar. Boy was called up by Mamat to play bass(only one or two session of playing the bass) for us....
After we cover Master Of Puppets, our lead vocalist decided to leave the band. which Mamat was put as a lead vocalist in the band. So the line up changed again. Amy & Alip on guitar, Boy on Drum and Mamat on the Vocal...
For one year we play without bassist, by then we already cover Metallica and Xpdc the most. Boy was Little unhappy playing the drums, because he prefer to play bass for the band. While searching for a suitable drummer, Boy who said that his friend can play drum were audition. Man! he was kickass!! but still, he's a low profile person.. hehe! so we offered him on that day itself.. he accepted the offer... Tanx to Rizal we got a fixed band...
How We Got The Band Name?
Brutallica was the first name, but Alip check through the net that there's a band call Brutallica in norway. Amy then decided that the band should have the band name Metal-Fist at this point. Haha, sounds fierce but he then discoverd a local band called "Iron-Fist". So AGAIN, it must be change.
Still looking for band names, Alip look hard into the dictionary, many names could be found but it didn't suit our playing. Then a word Pop out "SCAPHOID", Amy and Alip decided to have the word as the band name.
Anyone can guess what's the meaning?
