Heero is stoic, usually unfriendly, anti-social, suicidal, and generally not a great guy to be around.  He's called the 'Perfect Soldier' because of his hardness and perfection.  He was taught that emotions and friends were futile and would only interfere wrongly with the mission. That's how he came to know the expressions of being taciturn and stolid He's trained in computer hacking, Mobile Suit piloting, stealth, hand-to-hand combat, and just about every other thing a soldier should know. The only people he's shown signs of friendship (friendship as in not killing them on the spot) to are Duo, Relena and maybe Trowa. Possibly even Quatre. Heero is not a guy you want to make angry. He still has a heart of gold, though. It's just hidden under a lot of ice. He was brought up by an assassin Odin Lowe, who was killed on a mission, before dying he gave Heero this advice "Do as your heart tells you to, that's the right path" Then later he was taken in by Dr.J who trained him to become a Gundam pilot. Heero Yuy was trained to become a professional assassin to avenge OZ for  murdering the colonial leader "Heero Yuy"
