190 A rebel faction was ambushed and destroyed by the Alliance due to an Alliance spy, a girl named Middie Une who had to do such work to support her three younger brothers and ill father. The only survivor of the rebels was a ten year old nameless boy who briefly wore another transmitter given to him by Middie.

191 Leia Barton dies on L3-X18999. Her daughter is thought to have died with her.

192 Howard and Professor G part ways after hiding the huge space ship Peacemillion on the moon surface. Professor G remains in space with the Sweepers, a space salvaging group, while Howard returns to Earth. Shortly after, the Sweepers find a stowaway on their ship who calls himself Duo Maxwell.

193 Trieze Khushrenada becomes commander of OZ.
Several Winner shuttles are hijacked by the Maganacs and taken to the resource satellite MO-II. The heir of the Winner family, Quatre Raberba Winner, is among the hostages. With the tacit blessing of the current head of the Winners, the Maganacs use the shuttles to transport the satellite workers, who had been forced to remain there working, down to earth.

Sympathizing with the Maganacs who are all test-tube babies, just as Quatre thinks he himself is, Quatre begins to look outside of himself. He catches a traitor and gets wounded when trying to save the Maganacs leader Rashid from being killed by that same traitor. Quatre assists in the Maganacs defense of the departing space transports, remaining even to the end to secure the Maganacs departure. After that is done, he takes Instructor H back with him to L4.

194 During a sabotage mission on an Alliance outpost in a L1 colony, a number of civilians are killed when the explosions push some of the standing mobile suits out of the outpost's territory. The boy that would be codenamed Heero Yuy is struck with guilt, one of the civilians killed being a little girl walking her puppy whom he had met earlier after initially setting the explosives. Dekim orders Doctor J to retrain the boy to be rid of human compassion.
Chang Wufei is married to Ron Merian, an arrangement that doesn't really please either side. Insisting that she is the reincarnation of the clan's guardian, Nataku, she rides a prototype Leo to combat OZ's mobile suits which are trying to destroy the aging colony before the Alliance's biological weapons take effect. Wufei takes the incomplete Shenlong out to help his wife but Merian still dies protecting him. Afterwards, Wufei agrees to ride Shenlong, renaming it Nataku in memory of his wife, for Operation Meteor. Sally Po, commanding officer for the Alliance forces, reports that colony L5 A02026 was destroyed.

195 In L3, Trowa Barton is killed when he threatened to inform his father of Doktor S's discontent with the standing Operation Meteor. An unnamed worker took the dead man's name and the Gundam Heavy Arms down to earth.
Overtaken by the Barton Foundation as they tried to escape with Gundam Deathscythe, Duo Maxwell decides to destroy the mobile suit and then kill everyone else aboard including himself rather than allowing Operation Meteor to proceed. Professor G offers him another option, to steal Deathscythe and go to earth with the mission to destroy OZ.

Quatre leaves with Sandrock from the L4 colony cluster after Instructor H tells him to follow his conscience, ignoring the orders from the central organization.

Wufei takes Shenlong (Nataku) in anger to earth, refusing to accept the original Operation Meteor and the dropping of his home colony.

The boy that will be codenamed Heero Yuy stops the assassination of Vice Foreign Minister Darlian by the Barton Foundation because of the minister's knowledge of Operation Meteor. Doctor J offers him three choices afterward: (1) to carry out Operation Meteor as planned, (2) to kill Doctor J and escape, (3) Heero already knows what it is. Taking option 3, Heero descends to Earth with Wing, set on destroying both the Gundam and himself with the explosives tied to his spacesuit.

TV series.

The now allied earth nations and space colonies unite under the Earth Sphere Nation. A president is democratically elected. This same president secretly signs for the formation of a special unit to deal with discontent factions still existing.

196 Beginning on Christmas Eve, Mariameia Khushrenada announces the independence of L3's X18999 colony and her takeover of the Earth Sphere, succeeding in her father's place. Supported by Dehkim, her troops kidnap Vice Foreign Minister Relena Darlian and send many mobile suit units down to secure a position on Earth. Under Dekim's guidance, she would initiate the original Operation Meteor to drop a colony onto the Earth if they did not give her all sovereign power. Her plan was foiled by the Preventers and the Gundam pilots, ending with the death of Dehkim Barton.
