Dimmu Borgir Bio

Having first gotten together while still in high school, Shagrath (vocals), Silenoz (guitar), Astennu (guitar), Mustis (keyboards), Nick Barker (drums) and Simen Hestnaes (bass) formed Dimmu Borgir. Despite their age, the band was taken seriously upon their surrounding Norwegian black metal scene, a genre which Dimmu Borgir felt proud to be apart of. Not too long after graduation, Nuclear Blast Records quickly signed this sextet and released their 1995 debut For All Tid.
