Cradle Of Filth : From The Cradle To Enslave

Cradle kind of got a new sound for this EP. I don't know quite how to explain it. It's really not all that different than previous cradle albums, but yet it is. I wish I could explain it, but I suck! Well, the album consists of two originals, a re-do, and three covers. The highlights of the album are definitely the originals. The title track and 'Of Dark Blood and Fucking' are great. I mean, how can you go wrong with a name like that? You can't I say. Some great intensity in those songs and some great melodic parts too. The covers leave a little to be desired though. They do 'Death Comes Ripping' by The Misfits, 'Sleepless' by Anathema, and 'Pervert's Church' by some band. That actually might be an original....can somebody give me a definite on that one? Anyhow, the Misfits tune is alright, I never thought it was one of the Misfits' better songs, the Anathema song kinda blows, and Pervert's Church rips it up pretty well (in a good way).

The re-do on this album 'Funeral in Carpathia' from Dusk and Her Embrace. It's pretty cool, but not too much different. I could usually go for either version.

They also released a video for this album call Pandaemonaeon. (Damn that's hard to spell). It's pretty good. It's got the making of the music video for 'From the Cradle to Enslave,' the song, as well as two versions of the actual video. Plus, there's about 5 live songs, which are all good, and some candid footage of the band, but I WARN YOU NOW about the candid footage...Unless you're good at understanding heavy British and Irish accents, you're pretty fucked if you want to understand them at all. This is worse than trying to listen to Ozzy talk. Oh, and if you can understand Lecter, the keyboardist, AT ALL, please tell me what the hell he's saying, because I sure as hell don't know.
