A Witnessing Tool
 By Jeannette Kyle

I taught English as a second language in China where the Bible and Christian literature were considered anti patriotic and the exposure of any Christian liturature was actually against the law. God showed me a way to witness the Gospel of Jesus Christ without exposing my Bible. I have used this technique in China, Mexico, and throughout the United States where  it continues to be a valuable tool for winning the hearts and souls of many people to the Lord Jesus.

God Triangle (Scriptures)

    Draw a triangle on a piece of paper, write God in the center of the triangle and then write Father, Son (Jesus), and Holy Spirit on the corners of the triangle.

Discuss how the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are one God.  If someone states that the triangle seems to represents 3 Gods, you can use an additional illustration of H2O by drawing another triangle and putting the formula of water in the center of the triangle. Write gas, solid, and liquid on the 3 corners of the triangle.

Discuss how when H2O is made very hot,  gas is produced in the form of steam.  When H2O is made very cold,  a solid is produced in the form of ice.   When H2O is left at room tempeture, a liquid is formed as in drinking water, but they are all H20 = "water". Ask," Does this make sense to you?"

Man Triangle (Scriptures)

Make another triangle with "man/woman" in center:  Discuss how God chose to make man in His image to fellowship with Him, to Love Him and to Praise Him.

Put body, mind (soul) and spirit, on the three corners.

Ask again," Does this make sense?"
     Write this out and then discuss:

 God = perfect = Heaven
 Satan = evil = Hell

  State in your own words about the two spiritual forces in the world, Good and evil. God is absolutely perfect and lives in heaven, although He lives everywhere. Satan, on the other hand, is absolutely evil & lives in hell (although he also is a spirit and lives everywhere). Ask again, "Does this make sense?" Continue in your own words... Since God is absolutely perfect, He cannot look upon sin. I ask at this point "Do you sin?" and I have yet to meet a person who doesn't admit that he/she sins.Talk about how everyone sins even if it's hating someone which is like murder to Jesus. Because God is absolutely perfect and every person sins, no one can face God without some sacrifice for their sins.

The Cross (Scriptures)

So God said "Because I love man so much, I will become a man and walk on the earth as a man" (John 1:14) Jesus walked the earth. (I make a cross  and write 100% God and 100% man on the paper as I talk)

Jesus died, was buried and came back to life from the dead so that His shed blood would be the sacrifice which washed away our sins. He did all of this so that everyone who accepts Jesus as "Lord," can know that their spirit will live forever with God in heaven.

    Now go back to the "man/woman" triangle and explain that when we die, our body and soul will go to the dust, but the spirit will live forever and ever some place (at this point I circle 'body and soul-which is the mind"and underline the "spirit" several times as I speak).   Ask again," Does this make sense?"

Soul Triangle (Scripture)

Make another triangle with "mind (soul)" in the middle and God, Satan, and Self Will on the edges of the triangle.

Explain that God speaks good thoughts to our minds, Satan speaks evil thoughts to our minds, but God also gave each of us a self will so that we could love him freely (He could have made us love Him like robots, but he gave man a free will to make his own choices). Be sure to always ask if this makes sense. Continue by explaining that before you die, you must decide with your free will where your spirit will go at the time of death. Will it go to the perfect God, for a perfect eternity? Or, will it go to hell and Satan with its absolute evilness? That choice is ours to make and we cannot make that choice after we die because our free will no longer exists (at this point I draw a circle around self will and draw  a line to  God=perfect=heaven and one to  Satan=evil=hell as I talk). Does that make sense? Now ask, where do you want your spirit to go when you die, to heaven with Jesus, or to hell with Satan?.

Saved Triangle (Scriptures)

If he/she says," heaven with Jesus", then draw another triangle with "Saved" in the middle and " Jesus is God", "repent ", and "Jesus is Lord and Master" on the tips of triangle.

    At this time I tell a person it is important to pray these three points aloud (Rom 10:9 &10) and that I will say a prayer using these three points and the person choosing to acept Jesus as Lord can say the prayer after me, "the sinners prayer". Example: "Dear God, I believe that you are Jesus who came to earth, died on the cross and rose again from the dead so that my sin could be forgiven.  Please, Jesus, forgive me of all my sins, every bad thing I have ever done, said, or even thought.  Come and live in my heart Jesus and be my Lord and Master forever, (I use the word King with children) Amen."  Use your own words to explain what you are saying.  I like to tell newly saved people about their name which is now written in the "Book of Life" in heaven and about the angels who are rejoicing when one person is saved.

Power Triangle (Scripture)

Then make a triangle with "power, growth, or strength" in center and Bible, Prayer, and Fellowship on the edges and explain how these three things keep us strong and growing in Jesus Christ.

If a person says that he/she wants to go to Hell with Satan, say. "Maybe you would like to take this paper, and reconsider sometime in the future." (I personally have had very very few people reject the Good News with this approach, but if it happens, I know that no one can be saved except the Holy Spirit draws him/her). I would then pray that God continue to put people in that person's path, because the Word says that some people sow, some water, and some harvest. Salvation is a supernatural happening and only God draws, saves, and changes people. The results are entirely in His hands.  Our task is to simply present the Good News of Jesus Christ as Lord . This may sound complicated, but it is very simple and workable. I pray whenever I think about it for God to put someone in my path to whom I can witness, and it happens almost daily.  I challenge you also to pray daily for God to put people in your path so you might be a witness.

May God Bless and Grace you daily.
