Computer Science Workshop





Eight Computer Science teachers from our school attended 3 days Professional development workshop conducted by School of Computer Science’s at Carnegie Mellon University, Qatar Campus from 01 June to 03 June 2007.

Teachers from 30 Schools in Qatar attended the Workshop. MES is only the Indian School participated in the Workshop.

Workshop was conducted on three topics:

The first day emphasis was given to the topic “ Computer Science unplugged”: How to teach and learn Computer Science without programming. The Second day was devoted to “ALICE”, an Object-based, 3-D graphics programming environment used to teach Computer Programming principles to students in middle and high school.

The third day was allotted to teach Java, an object oriented Modern programming language widely used in all Computer Science courses.

Resource person for the workshop was Prof. Mark Stehlik, Assistant Dean of School of Computer Science’s, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA.

Workshop was conducted in a professional way and all the teachers could learn a lot from the workshop for implementation in our School.
