07/10/03: The Thirsty Scene Tour
The 27th of September started the second part of this little Tour we do with The Dirty Scums (Belgium's oldest punkband).  We started with 2 dates in a row (Middelkerke + Ingelmunster).  Both evenings turned our really great, lotsa people & great atmosphere.  Normally you'd find a full report here (written by The Dirty Scums themselves), unfortunately, these reports are from now on written in Dutch, so you better start to study some Dutch now!!!

23/09/03: London baby!
What can we say?  It was fuckin' great to be there.  Thanx to all the people who catched a glimp of us, you made this night memorable!  Besides bein' on the same bill & stage with Conflict & all those other great bands, the Anti-Flag show (nice guys by the way!) was really awesome & exciting, even without Justin. Outstanding.  We sure had fun there, met some really nice people,...  Expect some reaaaaallllly crazy pictures of our London Adventure!

04/09/03: M*e*s goes Clash !
"Last Tuesday, The Clash recieved the "Lifetime Achievement Award" during the GQ awards . According to GQ's Dylan Jones The Clash was 'the best band in the entire punkhistory'.   The Clash started in 1976 and recorded classic tunes such as "White riot", "London calling" and "Guns of Brixton". The group split in 1986. In December 2002 Joe Strummer - leadsinger of the band - died ." (source: vrt- news).
How does this story relate to M*e*S?
Well, Mise*En*Scene will record a Clash-cover for a Tribute to the Clash - one of our biggest influences and indeed one of the best (if not the best!) punkbands ever.
People who visit our rehearsals already know which song we're gonna record, others will have to wait a bit.
Next Monday+Tuesday we'll try make the best of our coversong in studio although it's impossible to do better than the Clash.

18/08/03: SLIGHT UPDATE
Some things have been changed here & there, take a look around.  We also received the final line-up for the Gathering of the Thousands Festival (London), & it really looks fuckin' great! Seems the coach headin' to London will be full, so this is bound to be one helluva night over there!!  Click here for more info.

27/06/03: Skatehappening
Despite the rather poor turnout (+/- 400 kids) for this festival which we kicked off, this sure was a show to remember: not only did we introduce our newest band-member Hannes, who will play a tune on his saxophone from time to time with us, the local police also reckoned that they deserved a place on the stage, as they called an end to this festival. So this will probably the first & the last time this initiative was organised. Long live the police!  Pictures on pictures-page.

02/06/03: Punk is back in Machelentown
We totally smashed the place @ Glenn's Birthday Party, where the stage fell in, the drums exploded and chaos ruled ;-). This was a "secret gig" of ours, being there as "special guests". One hell of a show for sure, great to play there! Check the pictures on our "pix"-section!

20/05/03: Pictures & shit...
As the picture-page seemed to be off-line from time to time, we moved it to somewhere else. Although we intended to take a long summer-break, some shows (but none outside Belgium) are scheduled for this summer, so make sure you check this site from time to time.

12/05/03: Hooifeesten Open Air ruled!
Last weekend was surely one of the highlights in our career, as we rocked the place @ the Hooifeesten Open Air Festival. We had a great time on stage, met some real nice people, and enjoyed the performances of the other bands as well. Thanx to the organisers for this unique openair fest!

09/05/03: M*e*s at Hooifeesten Open Air tomorrow
Tomorrow the M*e*s-lads play at the Hooifeesten, one of the coolest Open Air PunkFestivals this year. We're really looking forward to play with bands such as The Agitators, The Jesters, Victims of Society,...

29/04/03: M*e*s at Skatehappening Open Air
We're very proud to announce that Mise*En*Scene will open the first Open Air Skatehappening in Gavere, near our hometown. Again, we'll be the only punkband there, sharing the bill with hip hop crews like Nihilisten and Garons Dbilles, stonerockers Cowboys & Aliens and Skitsoy (ex-Channel Zero).
Be there & support us, it's a free show!

21/04/03:
Only one Dirty Scene Tour-show left! We'll take a summer break from then on, we only play a couple of times at some festivals during July/August, dates will be posted very soon, so stay tuned!

16/04/03: REKEM
The Dirty Scene Tour keeps kickin' ass! Last weekend we played one hell of a show at Rekem, receiving an awful lot of feedback from the crowd, resulting in a energetic powerful show. Thanx to the nice folx up there for makin' this a night to remember!

08/04/03: New Stuff
This weekend we kicked some ass on the Night of the Rock-festival: being the only streetpunkband on the bill with 2 rockbands and 2 punky popbands was kinda strange, but we had a great time!
There's 2 more sexions added on our site: LYRIX and PRESS, check it out!

31/03/03: interview M*e*s
Keep On Playing, one of the coolest underground zines around, has in its 3rd issue, apart from interviews with AGNOSTIC FRONT, TEN FOOT POLE and THE GET UP KIDS, a long interview with the M*e*s-lads. If you're interested to know what the M*e*s-guys have to say about religion, unity, backstabbers,... send us a mail, and we make sure that you get your copy.

24/03/03: new pictures/fairytales...+ plans for the summer
Yep, some new stuff on our "Fairytales" and "Pix"-page.
We'll have a long summer-break in order to write some new stuff, to have some time for our own, as touring can be hard ;-)
We'll only play a few gigs between June - August, including an open air festival in July. We'll do some more gigs with The DIRTY SCENE TOUR from September on, and will record our full-CD at the end of this year.
Stay tuned for some really great news!

03/03/03: again some new stuff...
We added a "Fairytales"-page on our site. You can read some reports of our THE DIRTY SCENE TOUR gigs there. Next Saturday (08/03/02), we play at a special show, knowing the 21th Anniversary of THE DIRTY SCUMS @ The Stage (Tielt). Be there!

24/02/03: new stuff the English part of our site & some other news
Yes, we know, the Dutch part of the site has more information & shit than the English part, but we have 3 new pages to please you: profiles with some personal stuff from us in it (???), we've put the linx back on our site, and (finally?) some pictures from M*E*S live in action!
Furthermore, we can announce that Mise*En*Scene is confirmed to play on a real cool open air festival (hooifeesten - 10/05/03).  Thanx to all the radiostations broadcasting our songs, please get in touch & send us your playlists!

10/01/03: Report of our cd-presentation (Deinze, 28/12/02)
Here's what The Dirty Scums had to say about our CD-presentation:

"When Mise*en*Scene started, the crowd must have been increased till nearly 300 people.  While there were some metres of free space in front of the stage durin' Riot Squad, and a bit less durin' our gig, the crowd now reached the borders of the stage.
Mise*en*Scene played a home gig and apparently they are loved by the youth of Deinze. All the time of their set, half of the crowd was participatin' in the pit in front of the stage. It must really be fun to be on stage now ! They played a long set with a bit of (too much) experimental things and ended with their hit "We don't wanna fight tonight", although "ended" is not really the word as they were called back loudly by the audience to play encores.
It's a time ago that we've seen a gig from an undergroundband with so much participation and appreciation from the audience."

You can read the rest of their report here.

08/01/03: cd-presentation & more
Happy New Year everybody! Guess it will be a year full of bombs, retarded presidents & lotsa bullshit... New year, same shit...
Anyway, don't let this spoil our fun: the CD-presentation in our hometown Deinze (Belgium) went really great, lotsa people, great atmosphere & lotsa beer!!! 2003 hasn't even started yet (well...), and it already turns out to be a good year for us gigwise, with quite a lot of shows planned (see "shows-sexion", sorry, but it's in Dutch). Long live 2003!

03/12/02: CD IS OUT!

The CD is available from now on! For only 5 you can get a copy of the M*e*s/the Divisive split-CD, mail us for ordering details. Soon we'll post some more news about the CD.
