Taught General Physics summer course. Developed class website.
Summit Middle
School, Boulder Colorado --- 1997 - 2000
Taught 7th and 8th grade Physical Science, Earth Science, and Advanced
Topics in Science classes, as well as a 9th grade equivalent Chemistry-Physics
class. Developed and implemented complete standards-based curriculum,
including benchmarks, scope and sequence, unit plans, and students activities
based on the Colorado State Standards for Secondary Science. Coordinated
after-school science club. Organized school-wide Science Fair for 200+
projects. Coordinated school Yearbook production.
Research Assistant:
University of Colorado at Boulder --- 1995 - 1996
Researched and analysed global ocean model data to study the time variability
of the Earth's gravitational field due to ocean mass. Developed software
in C and Fortran90, using UNIX systems and CRAY supercomputers.
Teaching Assistant:
University of Colorado at Boulder --- 1994 - 1996
Taught undergraduate Introductory Physics recitation classes, algebra-based
as well as calculus- based. Held office hours and tutoring sessions for
students needing individual assistance. Taught Physics lab classes. Worked
with both small and large class sizes ranging from 7 to 30 students. Graded
undergraduate as well as graduate level Physics courses.
Secondary School
Teacher:
Msalato Girls Secondary School, Dodoma, Tanzania --- 1991 - 1993
Taught Physics and Basic Applied Mathematics to A-level classes, age group
18-22. Developed Physics experiments and demonstrations using limited
resources. Set up an efficient system for storage and relocation of lab
equipment. Worked with large class sizes, 40-65 students. Had responsibility
for boarding school activities as Teacher-on-Duty two weeks per semester.
Performed class teacher responsibilities, which included student advising
and writing parent reports. Taught after-school aerobics classes. Msalato
Secondary School was selected to become one of four schools for gifted
students in the country in 1992.
Scholengemeenschap
Buitenveldert, Amsterdam, The Netherlands --- 1990 - 1991
