In X-Ville, it helps to get to know your neighbors. Most are willing to help you get started, establish an identity, introduce you to others and they know where the best parties are happening. You can research most existing characters here.
There are also non-player characters, or NPCs. These characters can be used by anyone.
1. Kitty- Saucy barmaid, proprietor of Puffy's. Kitty has been MIA for a little while due to stresses of owning Puffy's, but she'll be popping in to check on the place from time to time. 2. Glenn- Twenty foot tall flukeman, quarterback for the XVU football team. I think Glenn is somewhere pursuing higher education ...or flukewomen in a neighboring town. 3. Clones- Clones of every variety walk the streets of X-Ville. There are four quite deformed and insane Max Fenig clones running around, also, the mounties seem quite popular. There's a Langley clone who heckles the timid at Open Mic Night. Here's a run-down of a few of the more popular styles of clones. 1. Mountie Clones-These clones live at the Canadian Embassy. There are one hundred of them, I think and they are extremely hlepful. A mere cough from a town resident sends them into a flurry for soothing lozenges. They are very polite and innocent and follow their schedules dutifully. There are also a few evil mountie clones running around as well, (These are Ynnebs) 2. Mulder Clones- 3. Scully Clones- 4. Langley Clones- 4. Todd- No, not the Del Taco counter guy, but the soldier from the movie "Soldier." Recently elected sherriff. May be found ticketing cars downtown. 5. Pattie- Born of a dizzy typo (or a land mine explosion merging two mountie clones, take your pick), Pattie found herself hunted by the forces of the Canadian Embassy, which led her into the arms of a brief whirwind romance with Flukeman. Alas, such golden times didn't last very long. Shortly after Flukeman dumped her, she died of fright by looking at Ratz's glowing eyes. She returned from death by exploding out of the forehead of a self-cannibalizing midget, Tony Blair; only to die again while holding a giant explosive Saltine cracker. The Pacific Northwest totem, Raven, brought her back, but stuck her soul in the body of a golf cart made of the trivial belongings of X-Ville residents. She was later released from the golf cart and forced to share a body with Millenni, the Canadian mascot of the new millennium. When she finally regained her old body, she believed Millenni was the form of the Y2K bug which would eradicate X-Ville from Usenet servers. She was last seen stocking up on ammo and cans of ASCII text to await the end of the world. 6. Newbies- Newbies (capital N) are a vaguely lemurish species. Lurk in alt.tv.x-files to get the idea. They used to hang out in the mythology trail, but that was burned down. Now they're everywhere. 7. The Axeman- Man of few words (limited to "there is a blight"). Manages the Schizogeny Arboretum and its assortment of man-eating trees.
Remember to always e-mail a person before doing anything drastic to his/her character. We're generally a pretty easy-going lot, but don't push it! |
