Biography
First, let me explain, why I call my fairies  DanMerican fairies. It is quite simple. I am Danish, my husband is American, and so all our children are DanMericans and so are my fairies.
My name is Eva. I was born 1965 in a small town called Gram in the southern part of Jutland. I have lived in Denmark most of my life, but now  live in Texas, together with David and our five wonderful children. The picture was taken when three of my children had just gotten baptized in one of the lakes of Silkeborg, Denmark.
I have always been very creative. Drawing, designing clothes and costumes along with various arts and craft projects, has always been a part of my busy life, but it was when studying for my Danish bachelor of education exams, that I got the training needed to realize that I also had some talent for painting and sculpting.
September 2003 I attended a class by the orthodox nun, Sister Abraham of Jerusalem, learning to write icons. That became my first experience ever painting, and I could not believe it, when the icon slowly appeared before my eyes. It was a wonderful  spiritual experience. Today I make modern and traditional icons, paintings and art prints. You can see some of my icons under the icon link.
During spring of 2004, I found Hannie Sarris web-page, and seeing her wonderful creations, gave me the desire to try sculpting. My first four sculpts were made with paperclay and I soon discovered that I had some talent for sculpting. January 2005 I made my first polymer clay fairy
