I quack everybody up, so my name is "Quackers."  (That's kind of a bookshelf joke.  You'd probably understand it better if you lived with us.)  My sense of humor is a little different from everyone else's.  I'm not going to tell a joke to prove it.  I don't do jokes.  I see things that are odd, or maybe it is my odd way of looking at things that makes them funny.  In either case, this world is as crazy as I am.

I was supposed to arrive on Ms. Mary's doorstep in an Easter basket.  I couldn't wait.  I convinced the Easter Bunny to deliver me early, let me hang around and get acquainted with Ms. Mary, and then pop me into her Easter basket when it was time for my originally scheduled arrival.

Have you ever played that sit-down circle game called "Duck, Duck, Gray Duck"?  Me, neither.  (Gotcha, didn't I?)  "Duck, Duck, Gray Duck" is a game where the players sit in a circle on the floor and one creature walks along the outside of the circle.  That walker is the gray duck.  The gray duck walks around and pats each sitting creature on the head and gives him or her a color name: "Red Duck," "Blue Duck," "Purple Duck," "Yellow Duck," and so on.  When the gray duck pats someone and says "Gray Duck," the new gray duck has to get up and chase the old gray duck around the circle.  If the new one doesn't catch up to the old one before the old one gets to where the new one was sitting, then the new one has to start there and walk around patting each creature on the head and giving out color names.  I've heard it's a lot of fun.  I've played a game sort of like it called "Duck, Duck, White Duck."  I know that one is fun!  I'm teaching the menagerie how to play it when Ms. Mary isn't home.  We sit in a different place each time so we won't wear a circle in the carpet with our running.
