I was a Christmas gift to Ms. Mary. Way back in August 2002, Ms. Mary fell in love with her granddaughter's camel when she was visiting with three of her daughters. She carried that camel around all day long, and she kissed it sometimes -- even when people were watching. It's not nice to take a camel away from a girl, so the daughters decided to find Ms. Mary her very own camel and give me to her for a Christmas surprise. They looked and looked and looked. They couldn't find me. They looked and looked and looked again. They still couldn't find me. Just before Ms. Charlotte was going to fly to California for Christmas, she walked into a store and there I was. I had almost given up on her finding me.
I got to fly in an airplane all the way to California with Ms. Charlotte and her family. She put me in a box and wrapped the box in pretty paper (she showed me the paper before she put me in the box, so I know it was a pretty -- it was red), and she put the gift (ME!!) under the Christmas tree. When Ms. Mary opened the box, she said, "Oh, it's my camel!" And then she hugged me tight and kissed me right on the end of my nose. She was really surprised to see me and very happy that we had finally found each other. I am happy, too.
