Menagerie Messages List

October 10, 2004 - From Ms. Mary to TML:

My stuffed ones are eagerly anticipating their appearance on what will be a "corner" for the menagerie.  I think I am going to have to do Mr. Vegas first because his little puffy blue feet are a dancin' and a prancin' up there on the bookshelf.  If I don't get at it soon, he will write his own little introduction and statement.  I think I've been careful not to let them see me type my password for access to my web site . . . I hope I have.  If not, then one of these mornings, my opening page will pop up with a photo of the family.

I think I am going to have to rearrange my living room so the stuffed ones can't read my email over my shoulder.  At first, I didn't know anyone in the menagerie knew how to read.  And now they ALL know -- to some degree -- how to read.  And they are getting better at it.  And they are NOT good at hiding it.  There was a loud united gasp of breath up on the bookshelf when they read the part of your message about Lex, and Tara Bear said softly, "We don't have anyone named 'Lex' here, yet."  And then the Millennium Bear grinned proudly from ear to ear.  He adores the little lady who sits between his knees.  And everyone else nodded agreement with the unspoken suggestion that we need a "Lex" on the bookshelf.  They're already checking to see who all can scrunch which directions to assure a space for a new family member - and they don't even know what size he is or whether he is really willing to leave the East Coast!
