January 29, 2004 - From Ms. Mary to friends:
Well, we just couldn't wait. The painting near my apartment is pretty much done, and the netting and bougainvillea are all back in place, so I put the last of the plants back in place in the patio and out by my front door. And then I broke out the Miracle Grow and WOW did those plants ever slurp that stuff down! They drank so much the pots will be dripping for hours! I had to shut the sliding doors and the front door because every time one of the plants burped the teddy bears would start giggling. I didn't scold them for the happy noises, but I did warn them there would be NO burping up on the bookshelves. If they wanted to make THAT kind of noise they had to go out on the patio or on the front sidewalk. Nobody volunteered to leave the bookshelf. I shut the doors to help them resist the temptation to take a big swallow of air and buurrrppp. Patriot Bear Sir is the only one who didn't so much as crack a smile . . . but his eyes were twinkling like two bright little stars.
It is soooo nice to have my little world back in order with the plants all in their proper places.
