January 26, 2004 - From Ms. Mary to LB: Not a lot of progress to report. My plants are still stranded out by the pool and over on the slab by the barbecue grill. I walk by them every evening when I get home and talk to them. They are not happy; I keep picking off dead leaves, and the beautiful old succulent is drooping sadly. I don't know when they will get to come back home. The painters have spattered the wall-colored spray on the doorway trim, so we are sure (or at least have convinced ourselves) that the doors and dark green trim will be repainted. We've heard that one Saturday we will all get to sit around with our doors open watching the paint dry. At the wall end of my patio, the painters took down the netting I had put up for the bougainvillea to climb on. The netting, with bougainvillea still clinging to it, lays on the ground. The wood fence on the other two sides of the patio has not been spraywashed or painted or anything. I don't know if it will be or not. Someday my plants will come . . . . . . marching up to the patio gate . . . . . . and demanding to be let in . . . I think I am losing my mind with all of this. If you find it, please return it. I'll reimburse you for the postage. |
