| Subtle Wonderings Conversations began tentative Shy... Held tight by fear, doubts Yet needing to share, needing to ease the pain of a broken dream.... Trust was earned.. thoughts were voiced tears were shed, and wiped away... Laughter helped rebuild all that had been damaged... As time passed the need to hesitate faded... When sadness threatened your shoulder was there for strength When joy bubbled over my happiness needed to be shared with you.... With a sense of belonging I could seek you out A renewed sense of faith I trusted you would be there... Friend to friend no longer isolated walls came down A hand to hold onto, a voice in the darkness A subtle shift a dream that unsettled I needed your hug to last a little longer I wanted to hear your voice, to share in the dawn, to watch the sun slowly burn away the wisps of fog... I needed your laughter I needed you, as the tears came, as the anger surfaced, for no reason, other than because.... But the subtle shift has life pausing... stepping back Wondering what changed wondering how to go back wondering how to go forward.... A subtle shift wondering Tara Lowney 2006 |
