If i just do what i need to when i need to i can stay away from unwanted stress. In fun news we played a basement show earlier. We had a grand old debute of the song "Air is getting lighter" which flipped a flapjack. in fact the whole show fliped a flapjack and we rocked a major power toot out of this guy with curley hair. He went totally nuts. crazyer than i have ever seen anyone at a show. He ruled. The person who didn't rule was the WASTED chick who threw a bunch of wiskey all over me and my guitar. She also kept hitting my guitar and singing into my mike. Annoing chick. She was also punk which made me not liker a little more. The other punks were cool and to my suprise we went over really well with them. I decided i didn't want to hang with these wasted chicks (the really drunk one kept trying to get my atention as i was leaving. I think she wanted to get to know me a little better. I was not very interested) so i left right after the show and went back to oshas to listen to some records and eventually drink some water out of a dirty glass (i didn't know that it had dry milk in the bottem of it till it was way to late). I am excited to get back to HR tomorrow for a uber BBQ. I have never been to a bbq that i didn't like. and also tomorrow night Americas Funniest Home Videos will be on. While spending the last few days in HR i fell in love with that show. While i was in HR last week i did almost nothing for days. The most i did was eat and watch TV. It was nice. I actually walk friday and that will be the grand exit from broadcasting. sad times man. To take my mind off of things and get started working on my real goal of music i will officially begin the recording of my new album "Macabra" after class tomorrow. I have a lot of ideas for it and only a few songs half written. I'll start recording a cover of jeffs song Moments cuz the song rules and it will give me a chance to focus on the overall sound and feeling of the album and not the songwriting. June 7th I have 4 days of school left. shiza I got a D in PE AGAIN!!! In other news i think i am going to take up the "job" at the gorge clasifides, if it's still open. He (the man you know as Alice) was born Vincent Furnier. He statrted a band called the spiders which changed to the Nazz and then to Alice Cooper. When people would see them live they would think his name was Alice, sorta like hootie and the blowfish only 1000 times cooler. no make that 1030 times cooler. The Alice Cooper Group put out 7 full length records between 1969 and 1973 when they broke up due to openions and alcahol addiction. Alice went on a solo career which is still going strong today. The other dudes formed a band called the Billion Dollar Babies and released one album called Battle Axe. I felt really tired all day. All i did was lay around the house and got up the energy to go to my first class. PE. Can you believe that crap. After class i layed around some more and watched freddy got fingered with al. Yay. March 29th Hi bitches im back. It's been a long strange trip for me. Over 2000 miles on the road and now a huge head cold. I feel like i'm about to die. I saw martha maggy mike and bob in crappy LA. Spent a relaxing 4 days in the happyest place on earth and spent a lot of time in the car looking out the window in a daze. I also saw the Von Bondies at the anaheim House of Blues which was sorta sucky but a good band. I got back on thursday after spending 17 hours on the road and have been happy to be back in ol oregon ever since. when i got back i was pleased to hear that the rest of Mondo Hollywood went into the studio and kicked ass. We thought that they would only be able to pull off 3 or 4 songs in the night but they actually did 10 in about 2 and a half hours. I havn't actually heard anything from it yet but from what they have told me it should sound really good. I am a little bit nervous about recording the vocals. I have never recorded vocals anywhere other than in a friends room. I also haven't ever recorded heavy screamy vocals before other than once in my room in good river last summer. As alex and i say, "it's now time to ruin the song." It's a bit nerveracking but i'm getting over it. I'm just gonna have to do a good job. Hopefully we will have the album done, mixed, mastered and have lots of copies by the 16th or 17th of april for a cool CD release party at jeffs place. And if all goes well and sounds well and the recording guy wants to do another one i'm sure the band will wanna kick it in high gear for a 2nd one by summer (hopefully). In other news, i am about to start my last term of school. I have 18 creddits to tackle. Will i do ok? only time will tell. I start tomorrow with a weightlifting/exercise class. Lame shit. I don't understand why MHCC makes the radio poeple take this crap. We sit down for a living. Jeezuz. SUPER HUGE UPDATE December 10th First of lemme say thait I created a monster bigger but not as cool as Frankenstein. There are a ton of dudes who are makin there own page now. It was icy and crappy and no one wanted to go anywere cuz it was so freaken cold that your teeth hurt if you opened your mouf. I had to go to school and it sucked. After school sucked also cuz my appartment was freakin cold also. This is the draftyest piece of shit appartment i have ever lived in. I just hung out in my room all day and ate some oranges so i wouldn't get scurvy like one of those "arrrrr" guys. Jeff came over and we hung out in alex's room all night listening to music and drinking some wine. It was cold but fun. It was cold butt fun. Actually there was no butt fun that night. sorry. The 6th The next morn we got up at 6:00 to see if school was cancled. It was and jeff and I went back to sleeps till 12:00. When we got up and looked out the window we saw a few inches of snow layin around and what looked like 2000 mph winds blowin the shit out of everyone and everything in sight. It was rippin the sighting off the building, somehting that happens all the time around here. Jeff wanted to get back to portland to the ol ball n chain and i was bored of sitting in my room so we made a plan on how to take the MAX to the ball and chains apt. In good weather it's about a 45 min trip. It didn't look so bad out my window so we bundled up and headed out in the cold for a journey that would make the Lord Of The Rings look like, uh, well, a good movie. The second we stepped outside a huge gust of wind about blew us away. I thought i heard the wind say something "Don't test me man, I'm freaken mother nature, I can kick your ass." Is what i thought it said. Actually the wind didn't say anything. Jeff had farted and it just sounded like that talking. Oh man, jeff is really good. We decided not to heed jeffs butt talk and we went forth. We had a bus to catch. While walking thru the parking lot we realised what we were in for. The snow was not actually snow. It was sleet and walking in it was like walking on sand. The wind had blown it into dunes and some of the dunes were about 3 feet high. Some dude was stuck in it and was so dumb about snow that he was just spinning out. There was black smoke comming up from his tires. We helped him out and he was happy. Yay. At the bus stop we stood there for the longest 10 minutes in history. It was more like 11 minutes,m but 11 minutes is a long 10 minutes. Like 1 minute more. and thats a lot. Finally the bus came and we hoped on heading for the MAX and the casa de ball e chain. While riding on the bus were told that the MAX was shut down. YAY! we get to take slow ass busses all the way to portland. Fun. Actually it wasn't bad. Once we got to the gresham transit place we stood there for 15 minutes that felt like 17. It was bad. Lemme make this long story short. It took us 2 and a half hours to go from gresham to almost down town portland. And i thought i was going to die a few times. When we made it to the ball n chains place they were all "are you cold?" "No ball n chain i'm warm. I was about to die but jeff cut open a bantha and shoved me in it you idiot" i actually said that! Actually i didn't. sorry. the 7th The next day we got up to another snow day. All we did was sit in the apt all day and do nothing. Jeff and I took a few walks. Walking in the snow began to drive me crazy. I hate walking in dry sand and this was about the same thing. at about 9:00 at night jeff and I walked the 10 blocks to fred meyer to look for sleds. The lady in the hardware dept told us that they don't carry sleds at that location. Hey fred meyer, are you a total dumbadss? There is a foot of perfect sledding snow outside and you don't sell sleds? Shit man! the 8th By the 8th i was home free. I don't have class on fridays and by then i knew that it was my own personal FRONDAY. I still wanted school to be cancled on fri so it could be an official fronday. The 2nd in FGA history. That day was another sit around and take random walks. not much to report on. The 9th 'It was crazyer than all git out on the 9th. Good day. I got up at the uesual 12:30 and sat around till 2 drinking coffee and playing F-Zero X and watching TV. At aobut 4 camille and I went to the comic stor and down the road to a new BBQ place that looked and to our happynes was gooder than all git out. We were listening to there music and some bowie played which reminded os of our bowie shame. No one has Ziggy Stardust. Jeezuz. So after eating we crossed the street and went to the vinyl store. They alwayse have so much stuff you want that you spend your kids heart transplant money on records. There was a new load put out of defect records. It was a bunch of stuff with problems that are big enough that you can't sell them to collectors, which is basicly what the store caters to. Some of the the vinyl was scratched up or had a little warp. Or some was in good condition but was a sterio record in a mono case, something that reduces the valu almost completely to collectors. But i'm not really a collector. I just like the sound of old records on vinyl. The scratchyness adds charictor. I picted up an awesome haul. Captain Beefhearts Trout Mask Replica for 5 bux. The yeardbirds hits for 3. The MC5 Kick out the jams for 3. Rolling stones sticky fingers with tiwanese cover for 1. and camille got devos new traditionalists and bowies changes both for under 3 each. It was totally mondo awesome. I had to leave stuff behind. Like the beatles revolver for a buck! thats crazy. Later that night we took the bus to marks place to hang for a bit. Caldoni met us a mexican food place and we went to marks for a night of hanging like monkeys. We left at midnight and took a 20 min walk to the bus stop where we sat for a hour waiting. The bus was super late. Everyone was freezing and tired. we made it home and watched blind date. Fun fun fun. Actually the whole record and BBQ thing happened on the 8th. I don't wanna fix it. The 10th That is today. i got up at 12:30 again and sat around. We left for gresham and made it here. Tonight is jeffs b day party. mark al camille jeff stepfh me and big B are gonn hang loose. The windows are so cold that the condensation is freezing on them. The heater in the living room broke yesterday and we can't really go out there with out having our teeth chatter like in the cartoons. There is a draft comming thru our sliding door that is so strong that it blows around our blinds. Hopefully the ice will freeze over the gaps in the door and we can live in harmony with cold , fat and bitchy mother nature. Jeff is letting his ol ball and chain borrow his car tomorrow cuz hers is snowed in in HR. He is sleeping on my floor tonight like we are little kids. Alex spilled some beer on his mattress while taking some pictures in my room. jan 4th It sucks in gresham right now. It is about 20 degrees outside right now and 21 degrees inside. The power went out for about 3 hours between 6 and 9 tonight. I went to IHOP (Over things) With Al, T-bone and F. I drank coffee. After that T, A and I came back and sat in my cold appartment for an hour with no power. I need food. I need to go to one of those bum food banks. I could pass as a bum. It is very cold right now. The funny part of that story is that it melted before everyone was let out early. Now when it is actually dangerous they will prolly make us go anyway. On the first we couldn't drive anywhere so jeff, steff camille and I hung out all day and went for a few walks. We all wished that we were in HR so we could go sledding. They got about a foot and could not go anywhere. Today i was watching this old crappy VHS tape of bugs bunny cartoons. It was a bunch of public domain ones taht a cheep movie company collected in the late 80's and sold to dumb kids. At the end of the 30 minutes of racist bugs cartoons a guy in a bad Hamster costume walked out in front of the bad blue screen and proceded to dance while telling me about the "Kid Pics Club". For only 13 bucks you get a "beautyful t shirt", a monthly Kid Pics newsletter , another crappy 30 minute tape of public domain cartoons, and a "the happy hamsters play mike jacksons greatest hits" poster. I dunno why but I thought it was the funnyest thing ever. His name was "the happy hamster" and he is the new Shockmaster. I have looked all over google for a picture of the happy hamster but can't find anything. I hate the net. |
