Mr Linke was born in New York in 1948 and raised in Los Angels. After graduating from Notre Dame high school he attended USC, soon dropping out after discovered he was stripped of ideas.
Mr. Linke never had intention of being an actor or being in show business but a friend encouraged him to take an acting class. Linke took an instant liking to acting and transferred to the drama department at USC, He continued his studies and in 1972 he got MFA.
Even with his degrees Mr. Linke�s was told not to follow the risky career as an actor. Listening to those folks Mr. Linke moved to a rural town to in New Mexico. After seeing some friends on TV he decided to move back to LA where he managed to get some small roles until he was spotted by a casting director to play the role of Grossman for the new hit series �CHIP�S being down to his last 40$ this office was welcome ever though Linke thought the show would be cancelled within a couple of weeks. To Linke�s surprise �CHIP�S� ran for six seasons, and was one of the biggest hit of the 70�s.
About a year after CHIP�S was cancelled Linke�s life turned tragic when his wife (gifted stage actress Francesca Draper) was struck with breast cancer. In 1986 and after two-year fight with this disease she died leaving Linke to raise their three young children.
While still grieving from his wife�s death, Linke wrote a show � Time Flies when you�re Alive� The show became a hit, running to a packed house for over a year. It was also filmed for television as an HBO special.
Linke now lives in Los Angeles where he continues to act and write. He recently completed his third performance piece entitled �Another Time: Middle Rage
