Why the game ran, and why it was as it was.

Recently got The Matrix on DVD & this made me go rapidly towards
the rules for The Matrix RPG
and check em out again.

Very good rules!
Ther�re based on The Star Wars RPG rules, which is acclaimed
2 b the simplest system around!

So I was reading all these rules.
Everythings present & correct!
All the stats & skills to cover anything with bonuses for character
class choice..
Tons of cool abilities and a system to use them correctly
Its all there

Then I heard a scene in my head
"How did I beat you?"
"Your strength, dexterity and attack value is higher"
"Do you think my stats make any difference in this game?

...
Do you think thats a skill your rolling against?"

The Matrix was never about who has the best training, the best muscles etc!

If I was 2 run it
I�d dumb down the BESM system to its most basic and run it from there!

Body - Physical ability
Mind - Mental ability
Soul - Erm... Cant think of the words...

And leave most of it up to the players imagination on how to use them!
