2003 marks the 100th anniversary of the Wright Brothers' first sustained flight in a controlled, powered, heavier-than-air machine.
The theme is important in two ways.
We take the theme and use it in the design of the maze
AND
we use it in our questions.
When you arrive and check in, you or your group will be given a list of 30 questions, all related to our theme. Inside the maze are the answers. So you'll be learning and having fun (and getting some fresh air and excercise) at the same time.

2003 marks the 100th anniversary of the Wright Brothers� first powered flight. Learn about the birth and growth of flight as you enjoy exploring miles of paths through acres of corn!
We also salute Mansfield�s 300th Birthday.
The theme of Merrow Maze 2002 was Mansfield�s tricentennial, celebrating the first year of a two-year event. We continue to celebrate the event this year. (Mansfield's birthday is a two-year event because 301 years ago, in 1702, the townspeople voted to become a town and 300 years ago, in 1703, the Connecticut General Assembly made it official!)
Because last year's questions were enjoyed by so many people and we've had a number of requests, we have also included two displays of last year's questions in the maze. Come and find out some fun birthday surprises!
