Hi, my name is David Hawthorne, and I live with my wife, Irene, in Dromore, Co
Down, Northern Ireland. We have one son and four daughters, and we also have
three grand-sons and three grand-daughters.
I retired at the end of January, 2001
and bought my first computer - the one I'm using at present.
Although, initially, I was not very computer literate,
I have managed to gain a working knowledge and was helped immensely through
a Course I took with
the Open
University. The Course was entitled, "Learning Online:Computing with
Confidence", and I was fortunate enough to gain a pass.
Through contacts I made at O U, I enrolled with a group called "The
Budding HTML Gurus". This group is run by a lady, in Australia, called Jenni.
Without the help of Jenni and KathyD, my tutor, who lives in USA, I
would never have dreamed that I could actually build my own Website.
My hometown, Dromore, Co Down, (there's another in County Tyrone), is
a small town about 17 miles south-west of Belfast, just off the A1, which
